BlackSpike
Wysten, Welcome to MoneyPit 40k! :D While it is possible to play 'on the cheap', overall, it can be a very expensive hobby (considering it is toy soldiers, not Formula 1 Motor Racing!) The Rule Book is pretty much a necessity, but not everyone needs a copy of the BRB. If your common foes already have one (or more), you might get away without it. Assault On BlackReach mini-rulebooks are available, either in the AoBR box (Good for cheap Marines and Orks), or on its own, cheap, on ebay and such. The AoBR rulebook has ALL of the rules from the Main Book, (even using the same page numbers!), but none of the fluff, and very few pictures. If all you want is the numbers/rules, AoBR-RB is great! If you want some more story and pretty pics, you need to shell out for the BRB. Wysten
Thats perfectly acceptable. If I were you I would use the wolf guard battle leader as a model for it and not the wolf lord. fluffwise it makes more since to me. I think that is a big reason that HQ unit is in the book... to me anyways. :) Oh yeah, of course. Two Wolf Lords in the same pack would be unacceptable, but I don't see it as that impossible that two closely strengthed warriors could exist at the same time. Admitively one being less capable/less popular of leadership. I will probably constuct him as a normal Wolf Guard, only giving him something a little extra to nominate his status as a champion. A small back flag, massive wolf pelt or something. I am still playing Yu-Gi-Oh as my main hobby and if your not a sensiable guy, thats extremely expensive. So I kind of inherted my "get stuff cheap as possible" from that, otherwise I would never get anything done. Just always been a fan and while the codexs change, the boys always remain the same (unless your Chaos). Much cheaper then changing a deck with the coming format. ^^ Aye, I know about the Black Reach. Ideally I would probably want to keep the majorty of my stuff wolf related, but I would imagine bits of tactical of the more basic sense is used for those yet to earn honour. I'll consider buying it anyways so I can use them for my very first wave of modles while brushing up on my skills + book. Just I probably prefer getting the book then getting the packs as mentioned.
