High Marshal Sigfeird
Yesas the title states i do have gone and got a forgeworld marine, being so inspired as i am, from Replicas utter masterpiece of have decided to put all armies and and projects on the back burner so i can consentrate on this guy. Anyway heres a few W.I.P shots to get started. http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/001-18.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/002-18.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/003-18.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/ Share on other sites

Pig Of Sparta
I think this is set to be another epic project. I like what you're doing with the chest plate. I notice that both you and Replica have remover the midsection to lengthen it, is it realy that short? Looking forward to the next update :P James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2456707 Share on other sites
Replica
YES! Very very nice start mate, this is definitely going to be something very special and im really excited to see where this project goes! I think this is set to be another epic project. I like what you're doing with the chest plate. I notice that both you and Replica have remover the midsection to lengthen it, is it realy that short? Looking forward to the next update :) James Yeah, the midsection on the 28mm marines is around the same length as the middle of the upper chest, mostly because the belt buckle on the 28mm marine is disproportionately huge. On the FW model, if the original pose is used, and the arms are covering it then there isnt really much of a problem but its very noticeable if the marine is converted into a more open posture. Once again, this is just the first post and it looks awesome! Im going to be following this one for sure! ~ Replica Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2456828 Share on other sites
Power Hungry Monkey
Lookin really good HMS, should end up looking very funky indeed. Just have a question, how did you get rid of the aquilla on the chest plate? Please tell me you didn't use a file/dremmel to get it off coz thats a serious no-no with resin as the dust is really not good for you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2457332 Share on other sites
High Marshal Sigfeird
Wow thxs guys, i real excited about this project so i will update tomorrow with what im working on tonight, but again i owe this to Replica for hes the inspiration here so thxs again dude. And Terminatorin hell and Pig of sparta also thankyou both, you've helped me along with many of my projects. Powerhungry Monkey i did indeed sand and dremmel it off, however i work as mask and had my particle ventilator nearby. High Marshal Sigfeird
Right hey one and all !!. Just a quick update on the progress, the shots bellow are a before and after. Simpley its me just fixing the torso to the upper body and then using Milliput to start to form a base for that section of the model, anyways much more to come enjoy :). http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/001-19.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/002-19.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2458415 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
I really do not want to be nitpicky but the BA sign on his collar is a bit crooked, or is that the pic? TempusCorvus
Looks amazing so far. The only problem I have is that the head looks a bit too high up. Maybe if the collar was covering part of the face, it would look more natural. Replica
Try using plasticard for the collar, cause theres not a whole lot of room for the neck/head withing the existing collar of the model. To get mine looking slightly up i had to shave about 2cm off the back of the helmet. High Marshal Sigfeird
Hi and and cheers Replica, please keep the advice coming while i contiue this project. Anyways heres a quick update of the new collar and egining to fill out the abdomen small steps. http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/001-20.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz110/HighMarshalSigfried/002-21.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2459633 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
This is gonna be really cool, for the abdomen armor may I suggest a kind of layered segmented plate? I think it would look really cool on a model of that scale. Pig Of Sparta
You're progressing really well with this project. Any ideas on the pose of the whole thing yet? Who is he and what's he doing? I second Termie's suggestion, I think it will complement the sculpted muscles very nicely :). High Marshal Sigfeird
Guys this is where i show my inteligence XD, i need to be shown what you mean by layed segmented armour plate whats it look like ? and hes gonna be maybe a captain. Terminatorinhell
Well the idea came from this thread (marvelous work here, I am planning a similar project) http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=204961 As you see the abdomen armor is layered and slanted to give a better level of protection from blades because they would slide off more. High Marshal Sigfeird
Ahhh right cheers TIH i will do test run tomorrow on the layered pannels see what the opinion of you all is, thxs again TIH Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2459840 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
Termie's hit the nail on the head with his example . As he's going to be a Captain, I'm guessing you'll be going for an open pose (who wouldn't want to show off all that sculpting to be honest). What weapons is he gonna have, I'm guessing Bolt Pistol and a sword of some variety? Looking forward to tomorrow's update cheers James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2459920 Share on other sites
Replica
hey man, did a quick sketch of some segmented armor for ya, kinda looks like muscles, in a way, but not enough for the chest to look completely organic. I'd put some cables and stuff there too, i reckon that would look cool as i assume the chest armor of the Blood Angles would have probably be ancient and exposed cables are a trait of the older marks of power armor This model is coming up really sweet man! Cheers, Replica Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205942-forgeworld-blood-angel-replica-my-friend-let-it-begin/#findComment-2460162 Share on other sites
