Epic day to be a Blood Angel

So last night real life kicked me in the junk so I went to my local GW store to get in a game or 2 to forget my troubles. Turns out I would play 3 games and rain death all day long.

Game 1 Daemons

I had first turn and made the most of it. With shooting alone I brought a keeper of secrets to 1 wound and annhilated a squad of bloodletters. They had 6 of 20 left at the stat of his turn. He decided to fall back on his objective instead of trying to press me. Second turn I manueverd my army to take advantage of his withdrawl and finished the bloodletters and took out a bunch of daemeonettes. His second turn, the rest of his army managed to get in. All of them. With his reinforcements in tow he tried to press me again and only managed to destroy a few of my vehicles weapons or stun them. To make a long story short, at the end of our 4th turns he only had some daemonettes and a soulgrinder without much for weaopons that was immobilized. He forfeited.

Game 2 Nids

I thought this would be a bad game for me. He brought a ton of hive guards and 3 tyranofexes. He had a ton of anti armor guns. We were deloyed with spearhead and i won the first turn. Turn 1 all of his hive guards were dead. He respnded by sending his gargoyles at me and moved his harpy out of cover to start his charge at me. At this point I was expecting his tyrannofexes to shoot my tanks to pieces but it turns out none of them could shoot a barn from 3 ft away. His tervigon or whatever that spews gaunts actually rolled doubles on the first turn to kill his special gaunt spawning ability. My next trun killed 1 of the tyrannofexes, wounded the snot out of his Hive Tyrant and put a hurtin on the harpy as well. Only a quarter of the gargoyles were left as well. Once again his fexes proved they didn't know which part of the gun gets pointed downrange and his tyrant made it to my tank line to assault 1 of my razorbacks. He manged to pop it and the squad rolled out. My next turn managed to kill the last fex and the tyrant. He basically didn't have anything long range left that could open my tanks so having 2 of the 3 objectives was good enough for me. I ended up tank shocking his gaunts off of the last objective but ony because I was bored just sitting back and shooting.

Game 3 Necrons

The hardest fight of the night. I figured I'd get spanked as he had 50 warriors and a bunch of other nonsense. I don't have a lot of experience playing against necrons so I did what was recommended to me and tried to get as close as possible and tie up his squads with my RAS. Most of my shooting was negated because of WBB and my flamestorm baal pred lost its only weapon on his first turn. i lost a rozorback to destoryer fire right away as well leaving a small squad of RAS standing in the middle of no where with a ton or necron warrior aiming down at them. Surpriseing ly those guys made it to the final turn. MVP of the game was easily my devestator squad. The never had to move and took out a squad of immortals and his res orb lord and a tomb spider. I wasn't thinking this would be a good fight for me but the dice roll ended the game after turn 5. We both had 1 objective each and my opponents annoying little friend said total up kill points and he would win because of how many tanks and squads I had. Surprisinly I had 1 more kill point than him. Not the best win but a win non the less. Personally I thought this was the best opponenet of the night not because of how well he did but because of the actual list matchup.

All in all it was a good day to be sanguin and it really got my mind off my problems. heres my list

libby smite sword of sanguinius

5 5 man RAS 1 meltagun 1 power claw and meltabombs

5 TLAC razorbacks

2 TLAC baal preds w/ heavy bolters

1 flamestorm baal pred no sponsons

2 riflemen dreads

5 man devi squad 2 plasma cannons 1 LC 1 missle launcher

TLLC razorback

Good games man. I've found that plasma cannons are tyranids' worst nightmare in this edition:

"dang I scattered.

Oh look the template is still touching your trygon"s huge base plus I hit some of his little friends....

Tyranid player: grumble, grumble..."

Were the riflemen dreads instrumental in killing all the hive guard?

On another note tyrannofexes always seemed like garbage to me. If my opponent told me he was going to pay 250ish points for a walking gun that hits half the time I would ask him if he wants me to fill my elites slots with techmarines to make it fair.

actually the assault cannons pretty much ate the hive guards. I was using the rifleman to get his fexes in the back. it was epic. We have this thing at our local store. The challenge board. It's 5 tiers and if your at the top for 5 games in a row, the store will give you 1000 points towards your next army. This Nid player has been getting his list set up to un his was up the board and its nice to see that I annhilated him. it might have been a little different had his fexes been hitting but my marines neverassaulted. Only one group got into combat and it was because they were sitting on an objective.

feels good

Congratulations Brother-Captain thundrchickn, your victories against the foul xenos and daemon forces (especially the hated Khornate ones) has brought you great honour and glory. I am proud to count you amongst my battle-brothers. *salutes*

Just curious how you had first turn against Daemons and actually had targets to shoot at?

dawn of war elected to hold everything off the table and walk everything on second, he had to bring half on his first turn from deepstrike and my second turn was like a first.

Dude, good choice over drinking away your worries.

And your LGS must rule.

LGS?

thank you. drinking problems away only gives you more problems.

Did you count Dedicated Transports as kill points? If it helps, they don't count as a KP.

we did count them as kill points good to know for next time. I think I would've only given up 1 KP then.

P91, annihilation box... "each player receives 1 'kill point' for each enemy unit that has been completely destroyed". P87, example under dedicated transports "a Rhino bought for a Space Marine Tactical Squad (Troops) counts as a unit of troops...".

There another spot where it says dedicated transports don't count for kill points? 4th edition had moar conditions about dedicated transports and VPs, but not sure they are in 5th.

50 Warriors is crazy! I think you have a list that could be the blueprint for a meta list. The 5 man assault squads in razors with TLAC is solid now. I want to work with your list & see what I can come up. You definitely rocked the house with 3 wins in one day so good on you m8. :D Something I love about the new codex is all the different ways to run BA that are strong. The fast vehicles are aces.

In standard games transports count as kill points. where you may be confused is that in 'ard boyz and possibly other tournaments they do not.

i love the razorback list. The 35 point discount from our assaultys is awesome. Its an overwhelming amount of armor on the field. Sure it's only av11 but there's a bajillion of em running around and if you get first turn you have essentially 36" s6 ap4 all over the place. you have 1 to 2 more scoring troop choices on the field and if their armor survives the entire game you can flat out to any or all objectives in the final turns.

Some problems i've run into is being glanced into nonresponsiveness. I'm not to worried about getting penned but a glance that stops movement sucks. I know most people would say take extra armor but taking EA on 9 tanks is a ton of points. Having only 5 guys in each squad is sometimes hairy when fighting other space marines. I'm not too worried about the xenos armies but I'm usually outnumbered 2:1 at least in CC. Since switching to power claws that has been greatly improved. I'm thinking of dropping a baal pred to put a few priests in but the original problem I had with them was that they were spaced out a lot so only the squad attached to it would get the bonuses. who nows its still early for this list.

The heavys in this list are awesome. The devis with a TLLC razorback are nasty. I got into it a little today at my LGS. An individual said it was dumb because if they start in the vehicle they lose a turn or 2 of shooting. I replied back what makes them stay in the vehicle. Most of the time I would but its not guaranteed. I think your real problem is the 8 TLACs and the super fighty marines in your face on first turn. I intend to open all your transporst on first turn and get into position to rear attack any of your armor with big weapons. this person did not see what I did the day before.

It would be funny if this list did become the default meta for our codex. razorbacks were not my idea so I can't take credit for that but this list is awefully competitive in my eyes.

"libby smite sword of sanguinius"

Why not take the shield power with your libby... have a cover bubble for all your tanks? Since it's during the enemy shooting phase, can use it even if you don't go first.

shield has a small bubble and with a super fast list, your gonna be zipping in and out of range all the time. The only guaranteed units to get it is the libby squad and personally I wouldn't take him except that I have too. I may trade him for a captain.

as for your list orange. vindys are hit and miss. sure you're gonna pen almost all the time on light tanks and sometimes on mid to high but what about dealing with monstrous creatures. your only gonna put 1 wound each him and the range puts you in real close to a MC with wings.

UPDATE

big game today. got challenged by one of the best players at our LGS playing eldar. this guy tabled his first opponent of the night easily with almost no casulties. I fought him to a draw and my rifleman dread was MVP for for saving a devistator squad from a wraitlord by assaulting it and fighting him down to the draw. I would have tabled him if the stupid wraithlord would've died. HE ONLY HAD 1 WOUND LEFT!
