Mine where primed gray to cover up some GS work that had been done, i thought it was release agent to but it turned out to be paint :(

it was a thick filthy coat and had to soak for a while to get it off. (I used a dutch product that works wonders)

Mighr want to try and scrape the bottom of the paws and see if the color changes if you scratch it.

My wolves seem to have a whole lot of the mold release agent still on them. I've done the warm soapy water with old tooth brush thing 2x. This is my first foray into resin models so I am at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions to get the stuff off? Or is it ok to leave on and go ahead with primering?

Release agent will cause problems with primer and paint adhering. Rubbing alcohol is good fro breaking up resin. try it on a cooton ball and just rub with a circular motion. Wash with soapy water.

Have not heard the alcohol tip. I'll have to test it out on some resin.

Heh! No prob- it's a technique I learned from some scale modellers who used resin alot. Just get several bottles of the cheapest generic alcohol you can find. Wait, I guess I don't need to explain that part to a fellow wolf- we all know about large quantities of cheap alcohol

Did some wet blending on the sword for the first time in my life, looks ok i guess

Hail Brothers,

Recently picked up a set myself, the models are fantastic - however there does seem to be some sort of residue over the resin. Rather thick and detail killing which is a shame, i've attempted hot soapy water and had a little play with some white spirit and an old toothbrush in an attempt to scrub it off, so far the only real effective technique for removing it i've found is knife/file. Any tips as to what I may be doing wrong? Should I be soaking the model in white spirit or just dipping?

I do apologise for the lack of details I can provide, this a baby step into resin for myself - i've used the Land Raider doors and Dreadnought from Forgeworld, but never from anywhere else.

Any assistance people could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Grey Wolf
