Wolfsrage
I've been painting all my Marines by hand, and Codex Grey is one of my primary colors. However, there is no way I'm going to paint a tank completely by hand. Can anyone recommend a type of spray paint that is almost identical? I've used other colors of Testor's a lot in the past and had great results. However, I've never tried to match one to a GW color. Thanks in advance. Okidus
I'm sure Home Depot or Lowe's have what you need. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206030-are-there-any-spraycans-identical-to-codex-grey/#findComment-2457574 Share on other sites
evileyevirtue
A really close call is the Krylon grey primer. It's pretty damn close, only a slight bit darker if I remember correctly. An easy fix would be to prime the model, then take some thinned out (like 2:1 water:paint) codex grey and go over the model real fast to color it up. That's what I did. madscuzzy
There is a company that sells graffiti spray cans called Montana. They have a line called Montana Gold, which has a range similar if not almost exactly the same as most of the colours we use. ( so far Ive tested DA green, Snot green, Bone white, Blood red (old and new), Graveyard Earth, Charidon Granite, Sunburst Yellow, Commando Khaki) These are base colours and are not good for priming at all. SteelAngelJohn
http://usshop.thearmypainter.com/products....roductGroupId=2 << Uniform Grey is what I use for the base coat for my chapter. It's as close to Codex Grey as I need, and it has a GORGEOUS coat to it...
