Mithril hound
Makes me remember my tank.... it's ironic, I was light infantry myself... I'm confused to what you mean, I was referring to to my shield adorned predator- which is plastic grey. Valerian
Makes me remember my tank.... it's ironic, I was light infantry myself... I understand the irony - I was a tanker/cavalryman for 10 years, but only recently started using a single tank (a standard Land Raider) to my previously all footslogging (dismounted infantry) Space Wolves force. The only other "vehicles" I have every used are Dreadnoughts. wolf363839
to Token: that's my bloodcrusher conversion into a thunderwolf. hopefully a plastic version of the bloodcrusher is coming out in August, which will be easier to convert and build than this metal one. I trimmed as much of the "chaos-y" stuff off the model as I could, and added 2 tyranid chiten pieces for the "ears". This has been discussed many many times, but it's just my personal preference to use a mechanical beast instead of an unarmored wolf for my Thunderwolf models. (also, since it is a GW model, I'm allowed to use it for gaming at the GW store I frequent). Color scheme: the pick is too large, so I'll add some close ups. I primed them in Krylon Grey Primer (found at your local Walmart or Home Depot). I then washed Badab Black into every recess. Then drybrushed/overbrushed Adeptus Battlegrey (nearly perfect match to the Krylon Grey) over the whole model, leaving the recesses dark. Finally I "edged" the model using a drybrush/overbrush of Skull White. After all the details were painted, I used 2 coats of Krylon Matte Varnish to seal everything so it won't rub off. It's a fairly simple scheme, just takes a little time. After some practice, I got a lot better at drybrushing the Adeptus, which is key to leaving the recessed areas dark and gives some depth to the look. I also paint my infantry the exact same way. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2292.jpg?t=1278684272 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2282.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206045-army-work-in-progress/#findComment-2458022 Share on other sites
Welverin
I think you mixed the pictures up... they don't look like Metal Beasts.... errr.. not like living Beasts that are armored... Skipp that... they DO! ... But I wouldn't describe them as Thunderwolfcavallary. Coverfire
Is a different technique required for painting vehicles over infantry? When I painted a burnt out rhino I found that it didn't come up as well as my infantry models. Hotspur
Those look great! I really like the sharp contrast between the main color and the highlights on the hard edges. Keep up the good work. Wysten
Awesome work! The sort of thing I will try and aspire up to once I start painting stuff. The only problem might be that it looks too clean, I dare say it may not be so after a few field "tests" by our "professional" blood claws!
