haroon
I have been workin on an army list using army builder (with the latest update) and I have encountered a problem. When creating the assault squad's sgt. he seems to be loosing an attack when i give him a power fist. Meaning, when i have a pistol equiped in one hand and a power weapon in the other he has 3 attacks but when i change the power weapon to a fist he drops down to 2 (while still having the pistol equiped). I consoulted the rule books entry for power fist and it doesnt say anything about it being 2handed or removing the bonus for having 2 CC weapons. Is this an error in army builder? or does a sgt. with PF and pistol only have 2 attacks and not 3?

On the page for special close combat weapons, it says (near the bottom of the page) that a powerfist, lightning claw or thunder hammer can only get the +1 attack for a second weapon if the second weapon is identical (2 powerfists or 2 lightning claws or 2 thunder hammers). So, Army Builder is right. Sergeants with a power weapon and pistol get 3 attacks, powerfist and pistol is still just 2.
edkravetz
Haroon, 5th ed. Changed the rules so that when a powerfist is equiped you only receive the extra attack for having 2 close combat weapons if the second weapon is also a powerfist. Kind of like the lightning claws. haroon
that is brutal, i will have to rethink using it.
DerekLee688
Fists, Lightning claws, and thunder hammers require a twin to get the extra ccw bonus. Pistols only work for power weapons, regular ccw's, and SW's frost weapons. It's a change from 4th edition to 5th.
Aarkon
that is brutal, i will have to rethink using it. Don't re-think it, trust me, take the Power Fist, you don't want something like a Wraithlord tieing you up and you can't kill it.

haroon
I am going to take the power fist in all my squads because the BA power fist just looks so cool. I havent built or played marines since 3rd edition and I just love this BA fist, he's throwing a punch!
