Wicks
Hail Brothers! I have got to admit I love terminators, but where do they fit in a blood angel army?Particularly in almost pure jump pack army. Has any one have any ideas? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206093-terminatorswhere-do-they-fit-in/ Share on other sites
Amsoly
I do occasionally write them into lists as a midfield support to deep strike in. 5 stormbolters and a cml will lay down decent supressing fire and it's cost is comparable to your assault squads. I haven't fielded this in game so it's just a concept :). They would also make a nice heavy hitter (powerfists!) to help take down something your assault marines are bogged down with. Just my .02. BLACK BLΠFLY
Run them a five man squad in a Stormraven with a Chaplain & a Priest. 0b :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206093-terminatorswhere-do-they-fit-in/#findComment-2458436 Share on other sites
Aarkon
Deep Striking Assault termies with TH/SS with a Priest and Chaplain is nice to drop on your opponent. Isryion
If you're not wanting to run them in a vehicle, I'd think you have two options. Either a unit of 5 with AssC (you could deepstrike them or not) or deepstrike a unit of 5 with at least 3 TH/SS. Brother-Captain Devlonir
I always run a tact squad in my armies. And for 15 points, your razorback charging sergeant with some support can take a teleport beacon and can make sure the terminators land right next to him, storm bolter and assault cannon blazing. Gotta love the look on an opponents player's face when his assault unit that went after the transport with your scoring unit suddenly have that to deal with as well. mysteriousmaskedmystery
they go in an elites slot. you're welcome. ...seriously though, it all depends on how you play, look at the blood rodeo list which is linked in another thread on the board, they are using bikes, JP troops and a single termi squad. if you are going to DS them, then they are a rock hard reserve unit that you use to kill your opponent's big nasty. if you aren't taking any tanks, then they can be very useful as a high concentration of survivable, high strength attacks for killing MC and things of that nature. x01848m
In my mech list I am going to run five with a CML and CF, and have them accompany a Lib w/ TA and SS, and Unleash Rage and either Blood Lance or Fear of the Darkness (still deciding which is better as a second power, but is very opponent dependant). This makes your Lib very hard to kill, keeping that hood up and running, and gives you a good counterattack/second wave assault and fire support unit. Sometimes I would DS, and sometimes foot-slog. LordofDeath11
Run them a five man squad in a Stormraven with a Chaplain & a Priest. 0b -_- Hmmm, not sure if I missed something but almost 100% sure you can't carry Terminators in a S-Raven. Octavulg
It doesn't say you can't. It does say you can't for the Rhino, and it doesn't for the Land Raider (which we know can). Draw your own conclusions. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206093-terminatorswhere-do-they-fit-in/#findComment-2461498 Share on other sites
Mattsama
Run them a five man squad in a Stormraven with a Chaplain & a Priest. 0b :) Hmmm, not sure if I missed something but almost 100% sure you can't carry Terminators in a S-Raven. Page 61, last sentance: "Terminators count as teo modles for the purposes of transport capacity, and cannot embark Rhinos or Razorbacks." Those are the only restrictions listed regarding embarcation for Terminator Armor. Frustrashun
As Mattsama said, you can fit termis in a Stormraven, count as two models due to termi armor however - so, you can fit six total. Heck, you can even fit jump pack troops in a Stormraven, only vehicle I know of that allows embarkation of JP troops. The two lists I'm working on right now have 5 assault terminators (3 TH/SS and 2 LC) in either a Stormraven or a LR:C. In the LR:C they pile out with a sanguinary priest in termi armour and a librarian in termi armor with the Unleash Rage power. Hammer unit par excellence. BLACK BLΠFLY
I have a squad of assault terminators I'm working on to use. Terminators are one of the best assault units for the points you're paying since they have great save and are good in close combat, especially when combined with a Priest for the furious charge bonus. They are the only non jump unit I'd consider fielding besides dreadnoughts. Termies & dreadnaughts are an awesome combination and you can run them together if you take a Stormraven. 0b :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206093-terminatorswhere-do-they-fit-in/#findComment-2461871 Share on other sites
