Mark of the Wulfen

I wanted to do the braveheart blue face paint on my MoTW, but my skills aren't there yet and I didn't want him to look like a smurf in a grey suit... So I trimmed off the power cord to the wolf-skull backpack. The fluff I thought of is that a warrior who is being challenged by his own inner wulfen is gifted with the wolf skull by his Wolf Priest to serve as a spirit guide of sorts. What do you think of it? And please show me some of what you all have done to set them apart from their bretheren.

I know most guys use the 13th Co models, but I didn't think it fit the fluff since it is the "mark" of the wulfen, not a fullblown reversion like the 13th.

I really like your idea for marking out your Wulfen - It's a subtle way of doing it, but I think it works really well (Plus, you can use your MotW models as regular Grey Hunters if you so chose!). The only thing I'd advise against using that backpack on 'normal' Grey Hunters if you're using it to mark out Wulfen too.

Your idea is much better than the little red diamond tattoo that they use in the Codex! :)

I give mine the Wolf Helmet (love it!) and paint it red, this ties them in with the wolf Priests who wear a bone coloured version.

I also give them at least one chained Chainsword, to enable him to carry his weapons with him always. I also like to think that they extend as he throws them at the foe.

Here's mine. The pics are REALLY blurry, but I can't help it now, sorry :)

He's my best painted Wulfen model, and it's horrible that the pics can't show it, he's really good (trying to be modest here)

By the way, the OP model is BEAUTIFUL! So amazingly awesome I just couldn't believe it!

Man you guys need more imagination XD ok kidding , heres my own from my 13th company

I'm not sure if you guys have seen these but I wanted to share them anyway. I couldn't help but drool a bit upon seeing them. These would be cool conversions for the mark or the wulfen and would really stand out in an army! They also could be converted and used as TWC somehow. I have several ideas for these guys just jostling around in my head. Enjoy!

My understanding of MoTW is that they are not full Wulfen, but rather a bit bigger, rangier, hairier and toothier (is that even a word?) than the rest of the Space Wolves...

What you have there 'alphalupine' & 'whitewolfmxc' are full grown, burstin out of their skins and minds wulfen.

Very nice though.

I'll agree with ironking on this one, as i always pictured a mark of the wulfen model as the equivalent off a viking berserker, as history shows that these warriors were often marked out to others a) to scare them and b ) to warn their mates to stay away from them in combat in case you get mistaken for the enemy. As such i rather like the OP's model as it captures this aspect for me.
@WhiteWolfmxc, how did you convert the head?

link have fun

And to those who was wondering why i represent "mark of the wulfen" with wulfens............man i play 13th.........and if there is a Wulfen squad entry in the codex , id be happy........but there isnt.......so what am i going to do with my 50 wulfen models ? ......."bloodclaws" and "mark of the wulfen"

If "blood claws" are the old metal wulfen models , what are the more "wulfen looking" models gonna be ? guys with the mark but more wolfy ? "Wulfens" are my "Mark of the wulfen" if you understand the above statements , plain and simple plus i have no choice lol

He's about as tall as a plastic Wolf Guard Terminator, I'm gonna use this guy as either a warrior of Fenris with the Mark of the Wulfen, a Lone Wolf with Wolf Claws, or a Lone Wolf with the Mark of the Wulfen ... more on my BLOG under my signature

here's Bloodfang, I use him as a Lone Wolf with the mark; really stands out with my Space Wolves kill team! I also use him as a Wolf Lord from time to time.

I have tried beastman heads with GS hair to varying levels of success. Excuse the OTT weapon loadouts. They were built for the old 13th company list where characters with the mark weren't quite so restricted in their ability to use anything but there bare hands to rip their oponents appart.
