Brother Caleb
Also, I really like the idea of part of his skull showing. Any suggestions on how to convert that? Brother Caleb
I didn't know there existed a fluff approved color. Thanks for the info. Is that on the TWC description page? no in your fluff you said "A great black wolf challenged him" :o Oh, this is a painting tip and not a fluff correct. Thanks. The Thirst
Also, I really like the idea of part of his skull showing. Any suggestions on how to convert that? well getting out my Kjarl Grimblood on TW mini i see (and as will you if u look up canis wolfborn model on GW site that the TW already has 2 paralell scars so just use green stuff to make i into any shape you like and paint the inside bone(Anja Wettergren did a great bone tutorial in WD361) Â PS: Maybe even run him as a counts as Canis Wolfborn with thunder hammer and whatever other weapon so you get wrath of the savage and say thathe swings his hammer in an arc or just conks people on the head really quick Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206367-which-wolf-lord/page/2/#findComment-2462928 Share on other sites
Brother Caleb
ps did you like my a-team/TWC story? Indeed, I did. Â Also, I really like the idea of part of his skull showing. Any suggestions on how to convert that? well getting out my Kjarl Grimblood on TW mini i see (and as will you if u look up canis wolfborn model on GW site that the TW already has 2 paralell scars so just use green stuff to make i into any shape you like and paint the inside bone(Anja Wettergren did a great bone tutorial in WD361) Â PS: Maybe even run him as a counts as Canis Wolfborn with thunder hammer and whatever other weapon so you get wrath of the savage and say thathe swings his hammer in an arc or just conks people on the head really quick A few follow up questions: Â Are only Canis conversions tourney legit? He's pretty pricey. Can you run a counts as character and then alter his wargear? I thought wargear for characters was set in stone. Or were you suggesting that the weapons are counts as as well, leaving him at S5 on attack, and I'm just dense? Wysten
You make good points. However, by saying, "Despite the weight of his weapons, he developed a reputation for quickly overwhelming his opponents with a flurry of blows once he gained some momentum," I intended to leave space for Warrior Born. Essentially, he gets faster as the fight goes on, thus more attacks based on his kills seemed appropriate. On the other hand, as you have said this is a minor element to his saga. I should play this up more if I want to go with Warrior Born. Further, his name could refer to his ability to quickly get to his target and strike hard. Perhaps, I'm putting too much emphasis on the name, or it simply needs to be changed to something more sturdy or beast slayer-esque.  Aye, just Warrior and Beast Slayer does not quite match, since in theory it would be impossible to get momentum on a big guy. Because well, you have to kill stuff to do that. As said, saga of the beast slayer/bear just seems more like him. Just because he's either does not mean he's not strong in close combat hordes, after all, powerfists are often hidden in squads, so saga of the bear has uses beyond fighting massive creatures. It also means he has immense strength of charcter that allows him to take those hits.  Just going by the fluff of course, just I don't really see any famious battles against infantry. I will probably select a wolf lord based on this trial of fire. See who he kills most of. (Individal guys counting as 1, big guys counting as 3/5) and see who he kills 30 of first. MaleOpener
Option 2 : A lone wolf "filling his oath" means he died in battle, according to the fluff of the codex. I can't see this being broken for any reason, and I don't think a honorable wolf brother would. Maybe he was a pack memeber who kicked butt single-handed, and that's how he rose in ranks. Then a story as a WG, that plants him firmly as the next WL choice? Â Option 1 : It's a good start, but it needs more. The Thirst
A lone wolf "filling his oath" means he died in battle, according to the fluff of the codex. Â Â That's where you're wrong. read it again, it says that if he defeats the foe he swore an oath to slay then he is almost always inducted into the wolf guard if not he returns to his old rank Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206367-which-wolf-lord/page/2/#findComment-2463302 Share on other sites

I'll probably go with Bear to protect my investment, but that reroll to hit big-uns would be nice.  Just going by the fluff of course, just I don't really see any famious battles against infantry. I will probably select a wolf lord based on this trial of fire. See who he kills most of. (Individal guys counting as 1, big guys counting as 3/5) and see who he kills 30 of first. What does Abaddon count as?  EDIT: Also, since Warrior Born is essentially out, what do you think about changing his name from Swifthammer to say Rockhammer or Stonehammer? Or perhaps something else-hammer? I'm stuck on the hammer part for the obvious story reasons and be cause I like the company symbol I came up with. spjaco
I agree with a lone wolf returning once his oath is fulfilled and not necessarily having to die. After all a certain "Smurf" Captain was banished on a "Death Oath" and he came back and was reinstated from all I can tell. old git
For those who, like me, remember 2000AD in it's heyday, there was a bounty hunter character called Jonny Alpha. His companion was a big brute of a guy who wielded a hammer in combat, his name - Wulf STERNHAMMER ("I will introduce them to der happyschtick") Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206367-which-wolf-lord/page/2/#findComment-2463617 Share on other sites
Brother Caleb
Of course, I could always go with the more vague Wolfhammer, though I do like Sternhammer.
