Hey, guys. What's up? That's good to hear.

 

Anyway.

 

Here are some shots of my current project. The 1st company TDA of my DIY chapter, the Thunderbirds. I'm using space wolf rules for them (though usually I use C:SM for my regular lists).Without further ado, here are some shots:

I really like the color scheme it reminds me a bit of desert camo. well executed. Mind if i steal your idea for an obj marker?

Steal away ;) I'm flattered that you like it.

 

I definitely wanted to lend them a naturalist feel with my color selection. The bases are supposed to look like southwest canyon floors, as I imagine their home planet to be.

Very nice work, I really like the color scheme. Also: great job on the bases, they're both simple and unique, and fit the army perfectly. Should you have the time, I'd be interested in seeing an in-depth article on making those bases in the tutorials section ;)

Good models in general. The focus on the head of each one is well done, the glowing eyes look great and the red metal on the helmet-less dude draws great attention. His flesh is well done, too. And the "deactivated" eyes on the objective marker helmet make the other eyes look even better. Neat paint job, great use of color.

 

EDIT: And did you freehand the chapter symbols on the right shoulders? I can only see it in the first pic, but it looks real nice.

Very nicely painted mini's there brother. Very nice and clean paint job and I love the 'chips' in the armour you painted on. My fave is the guy with the tank commander head.

@Obliterator: In regards to the tutorial, I would love to and will get cracking on that ASAP. The construction is easy but the painting can be tricky. Blending in reds and yellows and what have you.

 

@glayvin34: I did freehand all of the shoulder symbols. It's been interesting haha. I based the chapter symbol on a Native American glyph/image of a thunder bird. I do think the resemblance is funny between it and the Raven Guard chapter insignia. That is their father chapter, after all.

 

I just got finished with the 5th member of the squad, Bodoway. He's got a nice rack... of missiles. I'll try and get pictures up soon. :)

I toyed with a chapter call the Thunderbirds along time ago, it got included in the 1000 chapters project, the scheme is similar to yours except it was white with orange and had some hawk turquoise to. Beautiful marines and I love your shoulder insignia.

Nice work! The eye lense flare really pops in this color scheme.

I like the hand swaps, too.

Are they intended to be fielded as a Loganwing formation?

The army is indeed a Loganwing list.

 

I finished the 5th member of that squad. The guy with missiles. Last night. I intend to get some pictures of him ASAP.

 

I also got about 95% done with my second objective marker and about half done with my dreadnought.

 

I'm pretty happy with the way the army is shaping up! :(
