Noctus Cornix
Good Evening Ladies, Gentlemen and Xenos scum. Ive been a long time lurker of this forum's amazing Modeling section and thought now was a good time to actually start posting up my work. So I hope you all enjoy. ^_^ Information: I use the Blood Angels Codex for my Night Lords as the Chaos codex just doesnt cut it for me. As far as the feel i try to give my Night Lords, I like to make them a bit simple. I dont want to bog them down in tons of decorations and details but give a dark grizzly soldier reputation. I love the ability to make each of them completely unique in their own way, but i dont want to abuse this and make them look like all bark and no bite. I say let their actions do the talking, not the trophies. So you'll see the occasional head on a spike and meat hooks hanging down but i prefer to let the basing of them holding a severed arm or the decapitated space marine head do the terror tactics for them. So here's my first tactical squad, complete with plasma gun and plasma cannon http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/013.jpg Now broken into combat squads so you can see the tactical marines http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/015-1.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/016-1.jpg Good close up of the sergeant http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/001-1.jpg Now here's brother Talos (yeah I joined the band wagon. ) Im using him as a Sanguinary Priest seeing that this just seems to fit the best for him. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/008.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/010.jpg And lastly, here's my stand in for brother Corbulo. I usually fit him with Talos so I can make the excuse that the super rerole comes from Talos' foresight ability. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/029.jpg and a close up of his lovely little trophy http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/028.jpg Now here's two of my personal favorites. This is the sergeant for my second tactical squad and the first of my assault squad. These two really epitomize that Im trying to go for with my Night Lords. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/012-1.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/008-1.jpg Enjoy. Johnerism
I love models with dismembered bodies on them. My Eldar Avitar had a Smurf head in its hand and there were long drips of blood coming out. Noctus Cornix
Ummm there is no loin cloth on either of my sanguinary priests. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2463069 Share on other sites
Haunter!
He might mean the Tactical Sergeant's lion cloth. I'm curious as to that myself. I really like the direction you're going with these. The scavenged armor is awesome, but I'd like to see some from the Space Wolves kit and maybe some from the Crimson Fist pack as well. Really give the feeling that they've been around and taken care of business. A D-B
Now here's brother Talos (yeah I joined the band wagon. :) )Im using him as a Sanguinary Priest seeing that this just seems to fit the best for him. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/008.jpg How cool is that? Aw, man, he rocks on toast. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2463143 Share on other sites
Noctus Cornix
Sure. No problem :] The loin cloth of the first tactical sergeant is from the Fantasy Orge Bull box. Some of the bitz in that box are amazing. *will show more models with bitz from that box soon* To be honest, Im not really going for much of the scavanged armor feel as in my fluff the 7th company has kept up much better then most of its legionare brethen. I do like to add scavanged pieces here and there but its really to give off mostly a trophy feel to it and i do so by taking some of the most sacred and religious pieces. For example, the sanguinary guard shoulder pad on my corbulo that shows off the image of sanguinus but could also be the emperor. Im trying to use that by saying. 'Yeah we slaughtered your champions and now we like wear their armor to remind you now and for centuries to come. Where's your god emperor now!?' It is also the occassional 'worthy opponent' that they kill in 1 on 1 combat. A piece of their armor is as memorable as their skull. Thanks AD-B. :) I went over your book an extra time just to make sure i handled him perfectly for every detail. I decided to go with the MK7 warplate that he gets from the fallen Blood Angel at the end of the book instead of the MK4 warplate he has during the book. lord gunthar
Aww i was hoping it would be from a box that i would have even the slightest interest in buying, guess i will head to the bitz store. I decided to go with the MK7 warplate that he gets from the fallen Blood Angel at the end of the book instead of the MK4 warplate he has during the book. I'm dying to see more of the ogre bitz in action. Can't wait. And for the record, you nailed Talos perfectly. One thing that was cut from Soul Hunter, but will be mentioned in Blood Reaver and onwards, is that Malcharion's bolter (the one Talos now carries) is a combi-bolter. But, like, it hardly matters. And it'd suck in-game, so... Rock on. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2463168 Share on other sites

Noctus Cornix
You do! Its awesome! AD-B, Ummm wow... Thanks man, that really means alot to me ;) Would you like to have the model? I could always make another. I'll get right onto making more of my army folks. I'll be sure to post up more tomorrow night, with alittle added fluff too. :] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2463179 Share on other sites

Noctus Cornix
Alright boys, time for round 2! As per request, I went to the models I had planned on using some of the ogre bitz and here they are. To start off, I'll go with my terminator squad, almost all of which have atleast one Ogre bit on them. Like their power armoured brethern, I dont really want to over decorate my terminators and so i decided to not use the cheesy spike racks. Never cared too much for them. So here's the terminator Sergeant. He really has the most obvious bit, being that I decided to use one of those nasty Ogre swords for him. Im very proud of how it turned out. Not so sure that ultra marine is though. ;) http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/001-2.jpg This is the next terminator, and as far as bitz, the cloth running across his power fist shoulder pad aswell as the set of meat hooks are both from the orges. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/002.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/003-2.jpg This one is my chain fist boy. The meat cleaver with the huge chunk of flesh still clinging to it is an ogre bit. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/004-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/005-2.jpg Here's my heavy weapons guy. I wanted to keep him simple because thats how he is in my fluff so the only real bit is the sack of bones on his back. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/006-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/007-2.jpg and lastly is my favorite one. He doesnt have any real ogre bitz on him bit Im very proud of the disembowled guardsman pinned to his shoulder pad. :) http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/010-1.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/009-2.jpg So here's my assault squad sergeant who I am extremely happy with. The weapon he's holding is a giant meat cleaver the ogre box. Enjoy. :) http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/011-1.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/012-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/013-1.jpg The sergeant with his first two members http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/014-1.jpg The first half of my second tactical squad http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/015-2.jpg And lastly, this is Veteran Brother Timor. He's the first of my sternguard squad, and no he has not taken all of his armor from a black templar, this is how he's looked since the heresy. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/017.jpg Hope you all like it. Cheers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2463865 Share on other sites

Noctus Cornix
Cool, I like the second guys powerfist, its from the terminator lord with kaigun/powerfist right ? Yeah, its from the old metal terminator lord. Im plaining on using that 'kaigun' as a combi plasma when I make my terminator captain. Noctus Cornix
Hey folks, its me again. Glad to see you're all still here (I think) So here's and update on what Ive got done so far. First off, we've got our first scout squad, or as we like to call them on the Night Lords forum, Harriers. I kinda wanted to make them more menacing and tough looking then standard scouts and I think I was able to pull it off pretty well with very simple but effective conversions for the most part. Let me know what you think. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/008-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/007-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/009-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/011-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/012-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/010-2.jpg An ode to Malcharion, my favorite Soul Hunter character, and perhaps favorite Night Lord period besides the primarch himself. This isnt Malcharion (that model is still in the making) but it is because of AD-B's portrayal of Malcharion and the awe inspiring combat scene between him and Raguel which was my favorite part of the book (second being the parade on Nostramo) got me to love the whole concept of 'Coffins with Cannons' instead of going with the astartes headed one. Hope you guys like him. He is Xandras, the Thunder's Roar, The Unsung http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/001-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/004-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/003-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/002-1.jpg And here's the Assault cannon he commonly uses http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/005-3.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2475169 Share on other sites
Loken86
im liking what you've done with the harriers but my favorite is the dead i love dreads and the way you've model this one standing on the remains is awsome now get some paint on them brother Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2476766 Share on other sites
Haunter!
The Ogre bits are bringing a nice brutal feel to these guys - I'm liking it! My favorites are the sternguard vet and the dread (who doesn't love a dread?). Since you mentioned the various armor as trophies, I'm liking your approach even more. I'm really interested to see what you're planning on using for your HQ. Nikolakhs
I love the shoulderpad on that termie, and that guardsman has a much better fate there than in your bitz boz hahaha. I will steal that idea, because it is a good job. Noctus Cornix
Thanks all. Your feed back is very much appreciated. Would love it if you guys could pop out ideas here and there to see what you guys would like or think i should have with my Night Lords. That would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully Ill have some more stuff posted either tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed folks. :] P.S. Since everyone seems to love the severed limbs and mutilated corpses, i think im gonna start dishing more of that stuff out. I like to show my Night Lords in the heat of battle, doing what they do so well. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2477212 Share on other sites
Noctus Cornix
W00T! Update time folks! This line up, we've got ourselves a brand new rhino, my Raptor (Vanguard Veteran ) Squad and the first try out for my Terror Guard (my Night Lord version of Sanguinary Guard [name will more then likely be changed]) First up is the Rhino. Its not completed yet. Need to paint the insides before i put it together. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/001-4.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/002-2.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/005-4.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/003-4.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/004-4.jpg So here's my raptors. Being that i use the blood angels codex, I wanted to set the 1st company veterans, the raptors, from standard marines with jump packs. So I use them as Vanguard Veterans. To satisfy anyone's thirst for what the heck they're carrying, The sergeant carries two lightning claws, which i can subsequently exchange for two power fists without any need for magnetizing or switching arms. Two astartes are armed with a lightning claw and bolt pistol which may also be replaced for a powerfist without need for change and the two others carry infernus pistols and chain swords. This way i can easily change the squad out between anti infantry or anti tank depending on what i need them to do for that game. Here's the two infernus pistols http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/010-3.jpg http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/011-3.jpg%5B/img http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/013-3.jpg' alt='013-3.jpg'> http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/006-4.jpg And here's my sarge. Without his back pack. Im still working on it. http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/008-3.jpg Now lastly I have here the first of my 'Terror Guard'. Its just a prototype and im not sure how i feel about it. I kinda like it but I still feel as though its not that grizzly look. Thoughts? http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/013-2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206455-night-lords-7th-grand-company/#findComment-2480307 Share on other sites
