Blood Angels Battleforce

So I'm just now getting home from my overnight job, it is 7AM, I'm not too tired yet and browsing GW website I get a 'lil upset seeing all these different battleforces... Where is BA's!?

Maybe I just want to buy jump marines cheaper, I dunno. But with all the different BA armies out there... what would be included in this fictional kit?

Jump pack marines for sure, 20 maybe? or 10 ASM and 5 DC? B)

I'd imagine there would be a Furioso in there...

Baal Predator?

Thoughts?

It would need to contain a DC box and a Sang Guard box - since thats where we draw our bits from.

Then, maybe a either tactical squad and or a regular assault squad and a baal.

maaaaaybe a rhino- but thats already too much.

Id say all of the above minus the baal.

that would be a rather large body count for a marine battleforce then.

I think they'd give us at least 1 vehicle though.

Well I never got to see or participate in the old discussion. This board needs a few odd topics like this....

I didn't say anything when there was 2,000 topics regarding Mephiston!

Coming from someone with Space Wolves as their chapter thats a pretty ironic statement. Last time I checked IG and SW are the two most feared and highly rated armies. That being said your tears are amusing.

I'm guessing:

5 Assault Marines

5 Death Company

5 Scouts or Dev Squad

Dreadnought/Razorback

They won't release a battleforce without a vehicle of some kind this edition, and a dread is probably pushing it. Like someone else also said, there needs to be something useless.

I can't see it happening TBH, and I can order frm an online retailer and save 40% of the RRP here and get exactly what I want so its a non issue.

I'd hope for a librarian + 2x assault marines and a baal pred since those are all things BA players would want to field. But since those probably sell well enough to the BA community GW would release the battle force with a captain tactical marines and a whirlwind.

based on how the wolves got it, i would say somethin like:

20 DC (they can after all be made to both DC, Tac. squad or assault squad...)(5 of these migt be sang guards instead...) (wolves got 15-20??? wolves in PA, for blood claws, grey hunters or wolf guards...)

a transporter of some kind (RB or rhino, would be my gues...) or a baal pret...

thats my gues anyway...

Pah! Who wants vehicles? :D

I'm building a full jumpy list so lots of assualt marines would be good with some DC thrown in. Useless item termies cos they are too slow :)

Oh and how come we have to pay £20 for five figures over 2 sprues when SW get a box of ten figures and four sprues for the same money - well at least until the price hike came in :pinch:

Because our Sprues don't involve Jump Packs?

And most of our sprue is heads, a fair few which most people loathe.

Jump Packs have always been more expensive, we just get copies of the same sprue, don't think there's that in the DC box.

As to what I'd put in a BA Battleforce...

5 Death Company

10 Assault Marines

Razorback

Effectively giving you a free Razorback, which is about the saving battleforces are making these days.

Yes JP's are more expensive - praise be to GW and Sanguinius - but in terms of the amount of raw plastic in each box the DC sprues weight 77g the SW Pack sprues over 140g I can't give an accurate weight for the SW sprues as they have had a fair few parts clipped off. So we get half the plastic for the same price - one way to increase profits GW...

Also there are quite a few bits on the DC sprue that will not be used by all and the Sang Guard sprues have even less bits that I want to use as I'm building Flesh Tearers. I'm still not quite sure on GW's approach witht he Sang Guard - nice figures if you like that sort of thing but in game terms they are not going to be popular with tourney players due to the points cost so many players will not even buy the figures.
