Well, if we named them the Praetors of Octavulg, their home planet would have to be called Octavulg. Which conjures up images of a frozen world that suddenly bursts into flame, then cools quickly before suddenly opening and consuming everything that lives upon it. I hear the summers are nice there though....

So, do they conquer the world? Coexist? Remain aloof?

Hmmm...I'd say semi-aloof. Kinda like how the Wolves deal with their mortals. Keep the population in a feudal state. There are sightings, myths, etc etc. Possibly a recruitment contest every so many years? "The night of a thousand blades", 1,000 mortals decend on a neutral city state (monk occupied city?), and duel one on one before an honored member of the chapter, until only a few remain, and are taken to the skies. Or instead, do it like the Wolves, watching a battlefield, and choosing the most honorable who show the control and discipline to begin training as an astartes. Any thoughts?

I think they should be strong warriors, but the recruitment feast should be done bare-handed. This is a pseudo-martial arts chapter. Shows their discipline by beating each other senseless with just their fists.

Remember, this is going to be 8-12 year olds beating each other. Maybe the clans bring their children to bring much honor to their clan. Incidently, I think we should go with "Clan" instead of Company.

 

I kind of opposed to Deathworld. I am thinking island chains. Typhoons, sea monsters, that sort of thing. Imperials let it be becuase it wasn't really worth colonizing a bunch of islands.

I was thinking Wu-Tang Clan, tbh. Jade Sparrow Clan, Onyx Lion Clan, etc.

 

I haven't thought of specifics as if they are self sufficient or what. That is an avenue we can probe, though.

Hmmm I like the clan idea not sure about self sufficient sooo what are our chapter names based on asian names? Maybe to be recruited the human must land one thousand strikes on the monk?

I just meant the name as the name for the tournament. The monks would be cooler as a defender of the sacred tourny site, neutral from the blood debt wars.
