Spazmonkey
He guys I have an AOBR conversion ive done(Still WIP), converted to my Bjorn count as caled "Draugr the Death Walker" Taken from norse Mythology- also known as aptrgangr (lit. "after-goer," or "one who walks after death") is an undead creature from Norse mythology. The original Norse meaning of the word Draugar were believed to live in the graves of dead Vikings, being the body of the dead. Views differ on whether the personality and soul of the dead person lingers in the draugr. http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv186/jay_Spazmonkey/P1050153.jpg http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv186/jay_Spazmonkey/P1050151.jpg http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv186/jay_Spazmonkey/P1050150.jpg http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv186/jay_Spazmonkey/P1050149.jpg You cant see in these pics the storm bolter has been converted to a flame thrower as well. Spazmonkey
Your skills with the green stuff cause an envious fire to burn in my heart. If you can believe me its only the second time I have ever used Greenstuff. I made a mould for the wolf head from the terminator box set, using greenstuff lego and hair wax. From there the Furs are easy. The biggest tip i can give for green stuff is, when its soft make the basic shape you are after, then wait 20 minutes to give it time to set a little, from there you sculpt the desired shape and details. I have found for the first 20minutes or so grenstuff is to tacky to do anything more than basic shaping. CainTheHunter
Great modelling :P. I did the same but was using the trimmed wolf pelt cloak from the old SW sprue. Your looks better :P. As the only criticism - have You considered putting on the front plate something more wolfy? I just dont have anything to use. i should be able to scuplt somthing, but I dont know what to do. Ideas? And I dont want o over do it. The banners will be painted with Runes as well.... Im going to use guitar strings to connect the flame thrower and the gas tanks on the back... CainTheHunter
I placed one of the totems from the SW pack sprue. The one with wolf holding knife in his mouth. Fits perfectly, but You need to flatted down the front plate a bit. I hope you all enjoy The model is great. But I'm grumpy about Draugr being used :P The reason being is because I'm making a IA for undead Space Wolves that are called The Draugr. But you beat me to the name fair and square (I'll probably still use it ;) ). Great conversion though :P. Spazmonkey
Sorry Jarl... if i ever get to Georgia we can have a Drink off, last wolf standing gets the Rights... hows that.... Well Yeah im totally open to suggestions for the sarcophagus. Id rather do somthing to make it a bit more unique. While im not opposed to using sprue parts, id like to do somthing different if im going to do it... But again im up for any suggestions, for the model in general, im infact thinking about removing the 2 flags and using a bigger single flag, which I would use green stuff to make.... TeamLando
Looks good brother, however I'd say the fur's furryness is a bit big? In my opinion you should give it some works with a tiny needle :o But hey, looks anyway. For fur You need at least a blade or smth, otherwise the results will be disappointing. Spazmonkey
Yeah i know what you mean about the fur, on the dread i like the big chunky fur, but wouldnt use it on a normal marine. As stated though my green stuff skills are very limited at this stage. Hopefully i will have more control in times to come. I'll get my tankard ready :) As for the banner I've been thinking about using the minotaur banner from WHFB as its a fur pelt and it has some tusks on it. I like to think they cam from a Ork squiggoth or something so you could use that if you can get ahold of it :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206793-aobr-dread-conversion-for-my-wolves/#findComment-2467732 Share on other sites

Bulweih
Great conversion and sculpt so far brother, thumps up. As for the frontplate, what I did with mine was fairly simple but effective in my opinion: I took the Wolfskull of the top of the bannerpole from the old SW sprue and cut the back half of the skull off to get it even. Then I cut the human skull between the wings off carefully before glueing the wolfskull in place and closing the minor gaps with GS. It wolves the whole thing up without too much inversive work, thought maybe you like the suggestion. Im trying to get a Ven feel, but still retain the feeling of him being an upgraded dread. The fluff behind my company is based around units from different companies being stranded for centries on an Orc occupied planet, sturggling to survive, re-using anything and everything where they can. Hence while he is venerable, he would not have access to the normal Ven Chassies, just scavanged parts... I just dont feel he looks Ven yet.... Any one else think I should remove the 2 banners and make abig Ven green stuff one? dswanick
Awesome sculpt, I'm envious of your modeling skills. To the OP, I actually really like it, and in my book the vague A.L.F. resemblance actually makes it cooler. And yes, go for the bigger banner. You should totally paint A.L.F. eating a cat on it.
