Because it is black armour i would suggest not highlighting every edge grey but rather using really really dark grey sort of suggest the light reflecting and only use edge highlighting on the points where the light would reflect strongest (eg if the light where coming from above the model, edge highlight the upper edges). The image below should help to explain this, just imagine the light is aimed at the top right corner of the front face.
