Crazy Eight
no point as they cant assault the turn they get out and there an assaultie unit your better off sticking them in a landraider or the flying landraider thing forgotten name Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206934-seth-honour-guard/#findComment-2468228 Share on other sites
Corby
Really expensive unit in a low armoured transport which is also quite expensive. And a single power weapon will ruin that honor guard squad as you will be removing a key piece of wargear for each unsaved wound. With the points you are spending on that honor guard you would be better off putting them in a land raider. Works out at 375 including Seth and without the razorback. Its not hard to destroy 1 razorback so they'd be left footslogging on turn 1 most likely meaning they'd get shot to bits. Massawyrm
I love Seth/HG in a Razorback. The guys above don't realize it's not there to survive. Personally, I would drop the TLLC for just the TLHB (since it's really not going to last very long) and drop the Thunder hammer in lieu of two Power Weapons. No need for 3 STR 8 weapons in that unit. In fact, you might even want to drop the fist as well. 4PW/SP/Seth is a nasty combination with the Chapter Banner. surelock
I am running something similar, Seth and honor guard in a rhino with chapter banner. Seth 5 hHonor Guard 2x twin lightning claws, 2x melta guns (yes a bit outof place but when you need that little extra punch or want to kill a vehicle and you still get 3 attacks base and can have power weapons as well or even a claw) Sanguinary novitiate. Razorback w/ TLAC (I am running 3 vindis and a baal pred as well as 2 rhinos w/ death company so lots of target priority). Tamwulf
Seth is one of the few Independent Characters in the Blood Angels codex. The Honor Guard, while fluffy, seem to be overpriced for what you get. Wouldn't it be a better idea to run him with an Assault Squad without Jump Packs in a Rhino along with a Sanguinary Priest? You'd still be able to get a couple power weapons from the Sergeant and Priest while retaining some ablative wounds from the rest of the squad. Red Fury
they cant assault the turn they get outSure they can, as long as the razorback didn't move. I'd stick with the razorback over a Landraider. Moving 18" in turn one and getting out moving and assaulting turn two is perfect. And if you think a razorback will take a lot of fire, what do you think will happen to a LR. At least with all those saved points you can add in another threat or two to keep the opponent guessing. Wouldn't it be a better idea to run him with an Assault Squad without Jump Packs in a Rhino along with a Sanguinary Priest? That Ras + priest + Rhino squad costs 165 points. The Honor Guard in a rhino cost 165 points (170 in a razorback). With all the extra weapon options, banners, hidden priest, and extra attacks, why wouldn't you take the HG? I agree with Massawyrm. You definatly can save points on the TLLC and stick to the HBolters, also there is no need for extra armor because you are most likely getting out turn 2 anyway, the dozer blade could be handy. I'd trim some extra fat off the squad though and take just PWs on two guys and leave two guys for allocating wounds to. You could always stick a PF/TH in there too, but if you add the banner as well then it starts getting expensive again. -Fury Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206934-seth-honour-guard/#findComment-2469362 Share on other sites
SamaNagol
HG are many things. Overcosted is not one of them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206934-seth-honour-guard/#findComment-2469433 Share on other sites
yodaid764
I agree. With Seth and a T Hammer, drop the fist and grab another Power Weapon or L Claw. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206934-seth-honour-guard/#findComment-2469451 Share on other sites
