ps209
A couple more questions from a nubie! Firstly thanks for the support im getting on hear it has really inspired me to continue the hobby, I have to say games workshop sometimes make it hard :P Any way my questions are. After reading about the benefits of death company with bolter/powerfist combos its lead me down the path of a bolter armed death company mounted in either a razour back or rhino can lemartes or astorath ride in a razourback or drop there jump packs. Secondly I love sternguard veterans a lot love the modles love the background and i have ordered ten of them im going down a 10 squad unit with power fist two combi meltas and a heavy flamer, is thast to much 'shiny stuff' can i afford to not put them in transport/drop pod. Third what blood angel unit can best deal with monstorous creatures my dreadnoughts are not having much luck Regards again PS209 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206974-a-couple-more-questions-from-a-nubie/ Share on other sites
vharing
Special characters cant have there wargear changed, unfortunately. you arent the first person that wants to put Lemartes in a transport. In my mind sternguard should always be in a transport, I like drop pods and LRC myself. The amount of damage then can dish out makes them big targets. Sternguard are you big ticket for taking out MCs. the Hellfire rounds are great for that. if you are facing a list with a lot of MCs having a squad that jumps out kills one and then jumps in and drives away is a big help. Brother-Captain Lucius
If you wish to use Lemartes With a group of DC without packs with a transport then your only option is the Stormraven Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/206974-a-couple-more-questions-from-a-nubie/#findComment-2468602 Share on other sites
njm3
Third what blood angel unit can best deal with monstorous creatures my dreadnoughts are not having much luck Baddies with multiple wounds will be tough for a single sergeant with a PF, especially greater daemon baddies, since 2 or three attacks aren't going to cut it. A vindicator, while s10, won't instant death high toughness models. An unsupported dred will get eaten by higher initative MC with their whammy armor pen rolls. Best bet is to whittle the MC down with shooting (especially assault cannons) and _then_ charge with several models (don't go in unsupported). Librarians can take a power that gives them s10 and they can also use their force weapon. Against daemons and other eternal-warrior types, the force weapon won't work, but a libby or any of named chars should do ok (especially mephiston) against an already weakened MC. There isn't a silver (or blood red) bullet that will work unsupported against any MC (tho Mephiston can do pretty well), just use a combined arms approach. Assault cannons, melta guns, and other high strength shooties will soften that big meanie MC. Ranwulf
I like my Baal Predators with TL AC and SPS Heavy Bolters. They work very well against MC SPECIALLY when I shoot both at the same target. Now, I have to know what's your Dreads layouts? Altough I rather not send Dread against MC if I can, they can make a good fight, SPECIALLY my Librarians. Str 6 Force Weapons are good MC killers(at least when they work).
