assault termie/LR in razorback spam?

The last few weeks I've played a black templar list running termie/LR deathstar and I was surprised at how well it ran. Does anyone else run this combo assault termie/LR w/ razorback spam?

This list I'm thinking is

Reclusiarch w/ termis armor

2 sang priest

-power armor power weapon

-termie armor

5 man assault termie w/ LR EA

4 th/ss

1 LC

4 assault squads w/ power weapons

-2 las/plas

-2 assault cannons

2 baal preds heavy bolters

It's very different from what I normally run but this just seems a little sick. I may drop the termie armor on the sang priest as termies with 2+/3+ probably wont need fnp although it gives the squad 12 power weapon attacks at I5+ and then a bunch of th to finish the riffraff. It's short on troops but my normal list only hase about 8 more marines usually. I'm also kind of worried dropping all my heavy support choices for 1 target (dual TLLC multimelta shagginwagon of DOOM) would make target priority easy for my opponent. I probably won't do this because it doesn't give me a ton of options like I'm used to but it seems like it could be very fun ( for me at least).

my current list for comparison is

reclusiarch

3 sang priest all power weapons

4 tl assault cannon raozorbacks with 5 man assault squads melta, melta bomb, power weapon

8 man squad with rhino melta, melta bomb, power weapon

2 baal preds heavy bolters

2 riflemen dreadnoughts

5 man dev squad with TLLC razorback 2 plasma cannons, 1 ML, 1 LC

Let me know if you've tried the termie thing or if you think my original list is better. so far I'm like 10-13ish wins 4 loss no draws (real men go to KP everytime after an objective draw )

I have run a list very similar to the first and it can certainly work very well. The main problems are target priority like you said, low model count, and the need for the termies to reach the right target - something juicy and expensive or simply on the enemies objective.

I haven't run it with a chaplain, but I've run that same terminator setup with a terminator armored, storm shielded, epistolary librarian with unleashed rage and might of heroes (which was cast on the lightning claw or thunder hammer models as situations dictated, not himself), in a LRC, sang priest attached. My squad was split 3 storm shields/3 lightning claws so it had troop and tank killing goodness. Also the librarian provides a lot of anti-psyker defense.

Yes, these units do cost a shocking amount (about 800 points) but in a 2k+ game they prove incredible. In kill point games they absolutely shine. It's amazing how much of the rest of your army and firepower units (for you it means your mechanized firepower that you don't want glanced is less likely to be pot-shotted) goes untouched when the LRC and termies are on the table. The amount of firepower both the LRC and termies can absorb is also incredible. The general idea that a lot of basic shots will bring down a bunch of assault terminators really has never panned out against this bunch because of the feel no pain. Charging them is relatively ineffective, and being charged by them is death. Any units that you don't want to be charged by (mass gaunts and such) can easily be mowed down by Baal's and the LRC before you bother unloading. Bottom line, they may not Mephiston-style triple their kill points, but they will kill their kill points back and free up the rest of your army to be very nearly unimpeded, in my experience. Again this is with them being run on a very mobile, high firepower list. On a massive assault list I feel like I'd rather spend the points on more guys, though this is not your situation either. Just uh, don't get immobilized turn one (not that that's ever happened to me....ever.)

Seriously though, why can't you get a dozer blade or siege shield on a Land Raider? Dumbest thing ever. Someone please tell me I've been playing the role of the idiot and they actually have it built in or something.

I'm currently trying something similar. I've had mixed success with it , yet it always does damage in some form or other. I'd recommend using a librarian with terminator armour and storm shield and the unleash rage psyker power. It makes the unit far more dangerous.
