Ravinella
Just had a game where I deep struck, scattered and ended up landing on one of the vac form GW craters. After taking my dangerous terrain tests and losing a couple of my assault marines, I started to place the survivors. At this point my opponent pipes up that they have to be in base to base contact and that because of the terrain they weren't in base to base contact, therefore everyone apart from my first guy down was unable to be legally placed. After a moments thought I decided that this was rules lawyering in the extreme and that I really had no interest in playing the game against someone like that. Question is, was my opponent right ? Seahawk
He is not. If he claims it again, tell him to read up on the Wobbly Model Syndrome grey box on page 13. It says if you want everything clear and exact, stick to flat tables with zero terrain. Otherwise, it says don't complain as it can simply be agreed upon their actual position. It was rules lawyering to the extreme, and I would have no desire to play such a person. Frosty the Pyro
Indeed, if the terain is not impasable people can stand there, and if they can stand there they can be placed. Also you place the marines first, then make your dangerous terrain saves.
