arming my canoness...

Recommended Posts

right...ive done some tweaking and shes getting a blessed weapon and a plasma pistol and shes riding in an immolator with 5 celestians (heavy flamer, meltagun, vet sister superior with bolter/melta, brazier of holy fire and book of st lucius)

Is this ok? thank you for all the help and advice! :)

Save the points on the VSS in the Celestians squad though, she Canoness cannot leave them even if she wants to when they are taken as a retinue.

Taking the vet is the only way to get another power weapon or eviscerator into the squad. You also get another attack. A Vet Celestian is actually cheaper than a Battle Sister Vet Superior for the points. I guess it depends on what you want you squad to do IMO. The only reason to take the Veteran Superior is for more wargear options.

all my squads are led by a veteran sister superior and my canoness has a celestian bodyguard(it just feels fluffy..)

thanks for all the help..

I'm the same way myself. Besides I'm unlucky enough where I always end up failing at least 2 saves on a 2+ against STR 6 or better weapons so a retinue is good. My probelm is that I splurge on my Canoness and her retinue. I usually spend 455 points on the entire thing with a Repressor transport fitted with extra armor. When I bring it to bear properly on the enemy though they usually feel the pain.

My squad looks liek this

Canoness with blessed weapon, mantle, cloak, inferno pistol, BoSL, rosarius (its saved my bacon plenty of times), frag grenades

retinue (9 sisters in it total) has

Vet with plasma pistol and eviscerator

Flamer

Heavy flamer

Simulacrum Imperialis

Sacred Banner

They also have frag grenades.

They ride in a Repressor with extra armor

Its pricy but effective.
