Corby
I thought it would make an interesting discussion thread , to find out the number of priests Blood angel players roll with in their lists currently. State how many you use and why , or if you don't use any Sanguinary Priests give a reason why you don't. I currently do not use Sanguinary Priests as I find them to be a little on the expensive side. Not only that , they can give away an easy kill point to the enemy and when I generally take them , the overall body count in my army is very small. Brother-Captain Lucius
I use two normally, both bare bones with jump packs for 150 pts. They usually roll with my two assault squads to give 'em FnP and FC. Sometimes I might use a 3rd one with 2 squads of devs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207114-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2470403 Share on other sites
Chimaera2000
A single priest with a power weapon in my 750-1000 point games. Points spent on redundant Priests are better invested in extra men and special weaponry for my Assault Marines. Zeller
If I use a priest I use a max of 1 so far. We didn't have them in the previous codex and I didn't need them to win then. I use 10-man squads so there's no room for the priest in a transport. He's 50 points for a single squad buff. Single squad because of the way I deploy. I'd rather have a land speeder or MM attack bike plus the number of weapons on the 41'st millenium that will simply negate it are prevalent enough that I don't care to have it. If I need fnp troops I'll take DC. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207114-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2470436 Share on other sites
Tame
I usually have 2 and an honor guard at 1500-1850 pts (all jump packs/deep strike army). IMHO it's worth it for FNP alone. Leonaides
Usually, 1 on foot and 1 with JP. If I'm feeling nice they might get a Handflamer or a PW respectively. sometimes Corbulo replaces the foot one. (Tactics - foot one is with my Tactical Squad/firebase units on the homeplate and the JP one accompanies either Assault squads or Sang guard or similar) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207114-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2470496 Share on other sites
Brother-Captain Sicarius
I use two normally, both bare bones with jump packs for 150 pts. They usually roll with my two assault squads to give 'em FnP and FC. Sometimes I might use a 3rd one with 2 squads of devs. this for me as well (exept for the devs...), usually play 1750 pts (or 2k) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207114-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2470581 Share on other sites
Jt3n
I have 2 JP priests in my 2k list, two honor guard as well tho. So 4 bubbles. But it's an all Jumpers list. 2 libbies, 3 ASM squads, 2 honor guard, 2 vanguard (5 man). JamesI
I wish I could squeeze in another, but right now I only have 1 with jump pack and power weapon. He hangs around with Astorath. brokbrok
I always take 3. I try not to run mech heavy lists as assault is what i wanted out of my army. The FNP is invaluable for keeping your squads alive when they would otherwise be dead. The extra power weapon and rules, along with your sergeant, easily makes your five man assault squad the equal of any ten man squad. Redo
In 1500 to 2000 points I am running with 2; One normal priest and one in an honour guard. Keeps costs down and KP's down too. On a side note: I think if you are using a DC you will need to have less priests as DC do not need them. I run with 6-8 DC most of the time and 2 bubbles are enough to cover my remaining inftantry. Remmah
I usually use 2. One comes with the honour guard, and the second has a jumppack and hops along with my assault marines. 1 priest is just not enough, you dont wanna loose out on fnp and fc everywhere due to some accident. Grail Knight
I never leave home without at least 4 priests. I usually use 3: 2 with assault units (one on jumpack, one on foot, in a rhino) and another one with the command squad. In bigger battles, I use 4 I think that they are great, and the special rules are awesome. BLACK BLΠFLY
I am currently testing one via Honor Guard and another with jump pack and power sword. I'd like to run a 3rd as well but it eats up too many points. This is for 2k lists. If you have a squad of DC that is one unit that doesn't need it. I attach the solo priest to a squad of SG that also has an HQ attached as well. 0b ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207114-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2471093 Share on other sites

Firedrake28
At 1,000 points I use one with no additional gear. At 1,500 I'll take two with a power weapon each and at 1,850 or higher I run two and sometimes an Honor Guard.
