He-man in 40k

So I was talking with a freind of mine who dosen't play Warhammer. I was explaining to him about Thunderwolf Cavalry and such and I showed him the Canis Wolfborn model. He said that it kind of reminded him of He-man and Battle Cat which got me thinking about how He-man would be modeled and such and I've got a pretty good idea on how I am going to do it but I could use a few suggestions or bits of insight so this may be better suited for P M & C.

Also I like the idea of barbarians in space (not the viking variety) and so I think I'll make him a chapter master of a counts as Space Wolves chapter that isn't exactly 100% based on the Masters of the Universe setting. For inspiration on the chapter I've of course looked at He-man but I've also looked at Conan, Skaar and of course Sigmar.

Anyway this is mainly about the model does anyone else think this is a cool idea? If it turns out right I think I may sell it. What I'm thinking is using a Space Wolf head (the one with the long hair and is clean shaven) and a mix of regular parts for the rest so that is pretty much planned out.

Now the main question I have is concerning Battle Cat and He-mans Sword of Power. I'm going to use the Lion of Chrace as the basis of course and add on some armor but I'm thinking about using a Sabre Tusk head instead of the lions head if it will work size wise so does anyone know if it's close? And I really have no clue on what to use for his Sword of Power so any suggestions?

I'm actually fairly excited about this idea and if anyone has any suggestions or inspiration I'd love to hear them.

There is a sword on the SW sprue that is being hold up that can be easily converted

use a jumppack chest plate

Would also be cool to convert that horse that is used in to a speeder or pred

He-man had a bit of a gay overtone. Not trying to kill your enthusiasm, but be prepared for a few gay jokes.

But I do kinda like the idea. I was thinking his sword might have to be made using green stuff and plasticard though. The picture above isn't the He-Man I remember from growing up in the 80's.

For the head, I think there's one in the Sanguinary Guard sprue that would work.

Battle Cat? got me on this one, but don't the High Elves in WHFB have a chariot pulled by lions?

Got some other ideas for ya if you are adding the other characters.

Man-at-Arms - Techmarine

Orko - Librarian

Fisto - marine w/power fist

Ram-man - termi or maybe a dread

Sounds like it could be a fun army to model at the least.

The He-man from the 80s cartoon show wasen't how he is portrayed in the original books so if there is a gay undertone it came from the people who made the cartoon not the character. In my opinion the new He-man (from the 02-04 cartoon) is much more fitting to the character. Also for a really cool interpretation of him and Skeletor check out Aerion-the-faithfulls Deviantart gallary. He has an awesome idea

I was actually thinking about maybe using some kind of chaos sword for the bases with plasticard added on.

I appreciate the suggestions brother but I already said above what head I'm using as well as what I have planned for Battle Cat which does include the Chracian Lion. But I will look into that Sanguinary Guard head as I think it does fit better then the SW head I'm going to use.

I may convert a few other characters but it was really only going to be He-man. And the chapter I will be creating thats barbarians isn't going to be an exact replica of the MOTU franchise it will only have a few referances so I won't be making characters for that chapter.

I agree except sadly I wont be modeling a whole army as I said above. Just He-man :P

There is a great head on the PA wolf sprues which looks exactly like a He-man/Prince Valiant type character, cracks me up every time I see it. The one with the tiara and no beard.

Thank you brother but I said above that is the head I am already planning to use though I may go with one of the SG heads.

If any of you are fans of the franchise I really do suggest paying a visit to Aerions Deviantart page, his versions and story is great (I'm trying to get him to make more)

There is actually a head in the Space Wolves box that is very He-Man. So much so that I think that its only use is as a Thunderwolf Lord with Stormshield and Frostblade.

You walked into the same trap as me... when will we learn to read the OP fully. :D

A good point, by the time I got to the bottom of the thread the original question was somewhat warped in my mind <_<

I would also think that with the blond hair, the disguise as prince adam and the general overtones...That making him a Blood Angel rather then a Space Wolf would be more appropriate *grins*

(Waits for the inevitable torrent of rage from the swarm of red-clad maniacs)
