Terminator Priest

Yes they suck up points, but it's still a doable list. (Though not in a min/max uber competitive way... )

I field 2 units in drop pods in TDA, 5 long fangs with logan (ML's) and a 10 man in TDA block.

Njal usually joins the TDA block, ensuring he stays alive wile walking up. Just the 3+ NO POWER roll is epic, but the lord of the tempest in late game is just insane!

Once you get that off against an opponent they take notice and start to drop or try to drop Njal.

BTW, you'd never need stormcaller for a cover save as it's 5+ and you already have a 5+ inv on termmies. ONLY usefull if your in the open and planning on going to ground for a 4+ cover save..

Yeah, I was looking at Your list in Your post where You with great insight discussed various Loganwing options, Not wishing to hijack this thread, can I ask You for a favor to drop me PM with Your current list? :D

I was going to say the reason to take TDA on a Rune priest is so you can actually make saves against Perils...Since I have lost enough priests to Perils attacks I am starting to think having an Ork Psyker would be less random and dangerous.

Though 9 times out of 10 I use runic armor for the Rune priest, and if I am facing Eldar I just use him as a "Anti-psyker" and use him in a rhino with WG otherwise.

Even with TDA you don't have a great chance of Saving against Perils (5+ Save that you have to reroll if you pass), which only gives you a 1/9 chance to avoid taking the wound.

Yes, this would have helped me last night when I bit the bullet and gambled with the "roll-less-than-12" horse crap that Farseers force on you.

a chance vs taking it to the face every time is still an improvement.

No doubt, some chance is better than no chance, but the chance is small (1/9) so might not be worth the extra 20 points and loss of an attack in close combat. However, I'm currently using the old 2nd Edition era Rune Priest in TDA, too, until I get my slightly modified Torquemada Coteaz model painted up as a Rune Priest - which will then count as Runic Armour.

I have a conversion I did from the base of a Warrior of Chaos so it has the feathered cloak. It does great for Runic Armor...Which is why I kinda wish I had one for Terminator Armor to use whenever I fight Eldar. I tend not to worry about the Termy armor otherwise, since normally I am ok....Though the very first time I fielded my Rune priest,he died in the first turn I played him. Tried doing Tempest's wrath since I was facing Blood Angels, rolled 2,and Meffy canceled. Then I tried doing the 5+ cover save one and rolled a 12. Dead priest. Lots of Crankiness lol.
