Stuff I've been working on

Recommended Posts

Figured I hang out on these boards enough, I might as well get around to posting some stuff. Some of this is older, some newer, and all poorly shot. I'ma try and get some better shots with a real camera in the next couple of days.

We'll start off with some Deathwatch stuff. i used to have a deathwatch termi army, and redid Lysander and the Librarian to go with it. It's hard to see in these pics, but the pads actually say stuff in the lettering.

Next is a Tycho I did, but never posted because 2 days after I got done, someone made almost the exact same thing.

This is one of my favorite models. I made this because I had the extra SangGuard legs, and didn't want to do a running pose...so, self powered librarian it was.

And now for the part where I need to apologize to Lamenter for poor use of his tutorials. I promise to try harder on the next one. This guys still needs some work, mostly detail stuff on the hips, greaves, and the backs of his hands at this point. I also want to build him a jump pack (I magnetized his back just for this). I based some elements of the design off the Librarian artwork in the BA codex, I hope it's recognizable as such.

This is the staff I built for the right hand. Since neither of the hands was to be found in the scale I wanted, I just built them both. I ended up making the right one bionic, and the staff itself still needs some work done so the shaft isn't so bland.

And one final shot, against the sternguard sergeant for comparison.

I was going for an "I'm gonna get you with my glowy hand of doom" pose with him. It's been awhile since I did any major greenstuff work, so some of it could use some touchup, but it got better as I went. I think I'm going to do a true-scale Chaplain next, but unless I can somehow coax some casts out of Lamenter, I'm only going to do the odd character model.

Your greenstuff work makes me jealous. You say you haven't done much in a while, but it still looks superb. I especially like the shoulderpad on your Librarian with the indented patch of greenstuff and small shield.

The truescaling itself looks great, just keep it up.

Very nice. Curious what you use to make the "ribbed for the Emperor's pleasure" tubing on that Librarian!

It's some cheap-o metal spring bracelet my girlfriend found at the dollar store or something. It fits perfectly into a 1/16th hole. The floating libby has it on the backs of his arms as well, you just can't see it from that angle.

All your work is fantastic. I think the true scale librarian turned out better than anything I could sculpt. I say excellent use of the tutorial. I must ask where you gat the shields you used on his knees and shoulder pad?

looking good. hoping to make a start on some true-scaling myself tonight.....once i actually find the kitchen table!

look in the kitchen ;)

on topic - awesome models, that tru scale libby is freaking sweet (i'm sure i'll be pinching the idea), the idea for the psychic hood is genius! i wouldn't have thought of that, i love the use of the tubing (although can't decide if its excessive or not)

oh, i know where it is. it's just the great pile of crud that's gathered on top of it during today that is causing it to be well hidden.. ;)

Step 1: locate some high elf shields

Step 2: cut off the bottom 3/16ths of an inch of said shield so you have a triangle shape

Step 3: cut and file the triangle, dropping it and cursing as you go, until it is a symmetrical shape that you think will work

Step 4: realize you have to do it 2 more times and the damn things better match the first one

step 5: find a beer and finish them later B)

I never would have thought of that, brilliant idea. I'm going to pick up some of those shields this week. Thanks.
