Land speeder storm

So, I got a Land Speeder Storm for my BD and...uh, only vanilla SM can take this baby?

I'm confused.

I think it's one of the coolest models out there...so much action going on. But my DA army can't take it? It would totally ROCK in a Ravenwing army...

Am I missing a FAQ or something about this unit?

Help!

Cheers! Teh Butcher

According to the "most important rule" clause in the DA FAQ, we can take anything from the space marine codex with your opponent's permission.

So simply put, the answer is kinda sorta maybe.

I am expecting the storm to be scaled back slightly and moved to simply a dedicated transport with the next SM codex, and perhaps at that time we will get it too.

ValourousHeart has it exactly right.

There's nothing stopping you using items from the C:SM (its kinda written into our FAQ) but, or BUT, opponents permission should be sought first. We don't want accusations of powergaming flying our way do we :whistling:.

In my mind in friendly games use whatever model takes yer fancy -- if it keeps the gaming and modelmaking hobby alive for you and your buddies then why not?

Then there's always Apocalypse....

What is your problem? All you said is, it was one of the coolest models out there, so what is stopping you from using it? Yes you can't use it as a Landspeeder Storm, but use it for a 'counts as' Speeder or what ever. Nothing should stop you from using it.

Just remember once you start dabbling into the SM codex, (wich you shouldn't do, that would make you Fallen, [just kidding there]) then you have to use everything in the SM codex, you can't pick and choose. That would mean no board wide psychic hoods, smoke rules etc etc, as Isiah said, you don't want to be power gaming now do you.

So the question is, do you want to use the mini or the rules or both? I didn't read anythign about you saying about the rules, just the mini, so nothing should stop you from using the mini as counts as something else.
