Final version of the necromunda/40k mix

Recommended Posts

Ok everyone. Got the final version of the list building rules. It is done on a single model basis, minimum of 5 models.

The other part that really makes things weird is the allowance of 70 points out of the 200 to be taken from one other codex.

There are a couple of things that have to be taken into consideration.

One is that I can only have 3 models with weapons above S6,or Power Weapons.

This includes Weapons on Vehicles.

Next thing is That the order of deployment and who goes first,is based around who has the fastest models....so Thunderwolves are out since they move at 6.

So the first question is,Should I try to be the fastest,or not.

The options for Fast vehicles so far is

Dark Eldar Raider for fast skimmer thats open topped for 55.

Ork Trukk Fast, open topped for 35.

Blood Angel Rhino fast, hardtop for 50.

Now the next question becomes, what other trinkets and toys would you choose to get from other codexs?

Thoughts I have had is a Blood Chalice from the Blood Angels, Wych Weaponry and Combat Drugs from the Dark Eldar codex,Hawk talon (24" 5 5 Assault 3)

I have to say I have also been considering tossing in a Eldar Exarch specialist or two...So what do you guys think might be nice toys to get.

The only restrictions are No HQ units,no more then 3 S6,or Heavy Weapon equipped models, one of which has to be the most expensive and thus the leader. Those three are the only ones that can use power weapons. Also only one model can use infiltrate and scout, and it can be one of those 3.

I'm curious as to the rules your using - is this an LGS thing? My LGS was using some weird ruleset that wasn't adapted to the new kill team rules, I'd love to offer a replacement to them.

Does the 70 points have to be taken from ONE other codex? If not go with an Ork Trukk and a Sanguinary Priest.

The Dark Eldar Raider comes equipped standard with a Dark Lance, but I think you can replace it with a weapon that is Str. 4 AP 3 - that might be worth looking at too, so it wouldn't count against your 3 weapon limit.

yes it is only one codex at the start. After the tournament starts (it is lasting a full month) I can get upgrades from other codex's at 200% point cost. And yes this is a LGS thing,we helped one of the guys that come here to make it and test it. Even though he can be a bit of a expletive at times, I can't give out the full ruleset until he gives the ok.

And the way it works for power weapons and heavy weapons is for instance..the dark lance on the vehicle counts for one of the heavy slots, though it could still carry power weapons.

Which has been leading to something along these lines.

Lone Wolf,TDA,Lascannon.

Fire Dragon Exarch.

Fire Dragon Exarch.

Long Fang Squad Leader.

Long Fang Squad Leader.

Long Fang Squad Leader.

Rhino.

It sure as heck wouldn't be the fastest, but it would have a good amount of guys to generate income (hold over from the necromunda part) and a whole bunch of firepower. The rhino with the Exarchs using the fire ports and a LFSL to split fire, the other 2 either supporting them or gathering loot counters during the game, the Lone wolf running around blasting people.

Another Option ended up looking like this.

Lone Wolf,TDA,MultiMelta.

Dark Eldar Wych with Wych Weapons.

WolfGuard with Powerweapon.

WolfGuard with Powerweapon.

Long Fang Squad Leader.

Long Fang Squad Leader.

Raider.

A faster moving, more assault based army. Lone wolf pops the transport, the rest charge and rip apart the squad inside.

Also..There is another problem to consider, and this is one that almost has me tempted to commit real sacrilige and use a different ruleset because I cant think of a way to solve it. The guy running the tournament and I don't allways get along, and he has built a nasty nasty little list to use as a "player punishment" Ethic problems aside,I have been trying to figure out ways to deal with a Ork Battlewagon with Deffroller,5 Gretchin to soak wounds and a bunch of Boyz. He got a first turn kill on me by deploying next to me,though he forgot a couple rules when he did it and that certainly assisted him in doing so...but that is besides the point. Any suggestions from anyone on how to deal with a set up like that? The only thing I have thought of so far is to find things that mess with Close Combat based enemies...But any recommendations would be awesome.
