Modelling Alpha Legion?

Recommended Posts

I'm pondering on re-starting an Alpha Legion army. I used to have one many years ago, but I'm tempted to do a new one in true scale. However, I don't really know what direction to go for modelling, the marines aren't too chaotic, but not loyalist either. But yeah, I was hoping if you guys might have some ideas and suggestions on what to do?

Hello new to the forum and at work so I'll make this fast!

I want to make a unit of Alpha Legion Chosen.

I am thinking of using older marks of Power Armour to show their " retro" look

Does any one know what Mark of Armour they used? Mark III, Mark IV?

the Alpha legion used whatever they needed to use to achieve their plans. If the armor style was not a concern they used whatever they had on hand so Marks 2-4 would have been in prevalence.

The new forgeworld models would come in great use for you. If you don't mind putting out a little more cash.

The Alpha Legion was created a few decades prior to Alpharius' discovery by Horus and reunion with the Emperor, at which time it was only scant decades before the end of the Great Crusade, thus the Alpha Legion would've been equipped with Mk. IV "Maximus" pattern power armor and the best weapons at the time.

Hope that helps you friend.

The first Siege of Vraks volume noted that the Alpha Legionnaires on Vraks should be modeled using regular Imperial marine minis painted in Alpha Legion colours, admittedly they contingent in question had been operating disguised as a loyalists but it still shows that they have access to post-heresy armour.
