Dewi Sant
Just had the new FW news letter in my inbox. Just wondering how many of my wolf brother, if any will be adding one to the under used Fast Attack slots in your forces. Check out the old school missile launchers, perfect for my LF! Wysten
Looks pretty awesome. ^^ Love the MK3 Armour and weapon designs I can imagine the Wolf Guard being given these valuble suits to show how respected they would be. Though I don't really like the backpacks on those. I imagine templars would really love them though. Entire crusaides of these guys, if they were not so expensive. £20 is pretty steep for 5 Wolf Guard/Tactical Marines, so they would probably be preserved for the wolf guard only. Everything looks awesome though. I dig the missle launchers too. Rider-75
the assualt ram, no. the mk3 suits, hell yeah. i'm even going to go with starting a new Pre-heresy/Heresy-era Legion just for the sake of it. Wolves are tempting me - i like the flat grey of their pre-heresy scheme. they are the "first" so hopefully other mk's will be more fully modelled too. and at £20 for 5. well i'll finally stop buying more stuff than i can actually paint! buy a set, paint them. by the time i've done that i'll have cash for the next lot ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207596-caestus-assault-ram-mk-iii-iron-armour/#findComment-2476505 Share on other sites
Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
The missile launchers look very wolf-ish to me. I may have to brave the high prices and purchase some, or find them on ebay. ...yeah right. ;) The MK3 armor is also great, and again I would love to run if for my wolf guard if it was not so expensive. The US needs a Forge World like Megan Fox needs to wear less clothing... -R_P_R Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207596-caestus-assault-ram-mk-iii-iron-armour/#findComment-2476513 Share on other sites
Dewi Sant
I'm not realy sure about the armour, Ram could be use as a storm raven with very little converting work. Need to assemble my TK and the 5 sets of Rhino extra armour before I buy any more FW kit. Hfran Morkai
I do a Heresy Era wolves force... I get 10 MKIV torsos and helmets for less than the price of five MKIII's, I'll probably pick up a couple of sets (along with MKV and any other Heresy stuff they throw out) but it won't be the mainstay of my collection. I like the ram but it's a lot of money for something not even appearing in a Codex "official" GW book. Guest dcxiii
Assault Ram? Nah, I'm an infantry type. Tanks are just bearable. Aircraft, no way! I love those older pattern armour types, so I may have to come back to FW and purchase them. Plus those Missile Launchers would definitely go well with the Long Fangs. Definitely something to take note of! Heimdall Skullcrusher
Its nice to have a source of meltas, rockets and flamers. That was almost meant for Space Wolves. The assault ram looks pretty sweet, its rear armor is its only real weakness. Experimental rules though, might be a tad over-powered. Holding 10 terminators would make it great for a logan wing type of army. I concur, good way to get missile launches and melta guns the ML's go for £2.50 on most bits sites and then thats if your luck enough to get there first. LoneSniperSG
There's a model for that stupid Raven Gunship everyone wants these days. Olgerth Istaarn
The ram's rules make me drool. Especially Misericorde. I would totally use it. It is so overpowered that it makes me giddy. I can just see it delivering a ten-man Wolfinator pack to someone's doorstep. Plus, I always wanted to field something that is a fast skimmer tank. Of course, the whole shabang would cost an arm, a leg and a firstborn, but HOW COOL WOULD IT BE?! As for the olde-skoole weapons, not a fan. Maybe I'd consider using the meltas and the flamers, but the missile launcher is just too silly. Ditto for the Iron armor. These dudes look like they belong in the distant past, especially with those riveted, yet featureless breastplates. I love the shape of the torsos - they would totally rock as techmarines - but I can't deal with the completely smooth front, I miss the aquila or at least a skull. Logan230
The ram is just too expensive for me, but i would love to have a couple sets of that armor, i think it looks amazing. would have to do some wolfying up but still. Wysten
The ram scares me. A unit that can go that fast scares me. If I can shoot it, chances are it will be on me next turn. Dewi Sant
Thinking back, I think I can remember seeing a mock up of the CAR (That's what I'm going to call it from now on) some time back. May have even been from a games day last year. Does anyone have the pics? I would be interested to know what time scale FW are working too. Lord Ragnarok
Yes, for 13th Company, or bits of armor for Wolf Lord or WG (From the Lord's armory. Taeken
Yes on the special weapons. I love those missle launchers. They add alot of flavor to the 5 ML - LF packs. The armour I am going to convert my own. I love the look, just can't pay that much for 5 mini's. The Ram is cool. Going to wait on that one for now. I love the shape of the torsos - they would totally rock as techmarines - but I can't deal with the completely smooth front, I miss the aquila or at least a skull. missing the point. mk3 armour is form the past - 10,000 years in the past. much of it would have been around before the adoption of the aquila as the imperial insignia - thus why it's missing. wolf363839
The Assault Ram is way over-powered for its points. It has better armor than a stormraven, slightly better weapons, and is virtually the same price. If you remove the 36" flat out move and make it 250 points it would probably pass the common sense test. An assault fast skimmer with 10 Termies is a helluva bang for the buck. hmk17
Ram... probably not. Mk 3 would definitely find a place for. I would also put the weapon upgrade kits to good use too. Heresy era missile launchers, flamers, and melta guns. Who could say no to that?! Valerian
Definitely not on the old Rogue Trader style weapons; they aren't nearly as nice as the more modern versions. Hell, if I go looking for them, I've still probably got some of those in plastic anyway. The Mk III Armour I'm not too thrilled about either. If I happened to have a couple of suits I would fit them in, but I'm not going to go pitot my way to get some. I really like the Caestus, and it's rules, but the model is pretty expensive (get get 3 Land Raiders for the cost?), and with experimental Forgeworld rules I wouldn't likely get to use it often. If it gets added to the 6th Edition Space Wolves codex, and GW makes a model in plastic, then sure. Aenar Deathclaws
Definetely yes for the caestus assault ramp. I'll use it in Apocalypse games to begin to disembark my Blackmane Great Company. imagine 10 drop pods coming from the sky with two or three assault ramps with Ragnar and his Wolf guards or some blood claws to be able to charge at the landing... With the ride of walkyrie behind as music and we're completely in... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207596-caestus-assault-ram-mk-iii-iron-armour/#findComment-2477186 Share on other sites
