bushman101
Just curious if anyone one is mixing pistol and close combat weapon DC with bolters. If not, why? Reason for this question is that I want to expand my DC and wonder if I should bother adding bolters to my guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207599-mixed-dc/ Share on other sites
JamesI
well, anyone with a fist/hammer should have a bolter. Other than that, I guess its a personal choice. I'd probably aim for 40% or so with bolters (including the fist/hammer guys). Rybnick
I'm just now starting modeling my first DC squad (it's 10 marines, but likely only 5 or 9 fielded depenging on their transport). I'm planning on pretty much only the PF or TH models having bolters, I'll always have at least 1 PF/TH in a DC squad and sometimes 2. What I'm really hung up on is how many PW's to put in a squad. I'm leaning towards 1 in a 5 man and 2-3 in a 9 man. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207599-mixed-dc/#findComment-2476608 Share on other sites
Mattsama
What James said. On PF/TH guys it is almost a must!! Besides, you can make some wicked conversions for it!! Rybnick
Because PF/TH wielding DC wouldn't benefit from having a bolt pistol since PF/TH can never get the +1 attack from wielding 2 CC weapons, plus DC are relentless allowing them to rapid fire with their bolters and still be able to asault. I tend to normally disagree when it comes to this... mostly because I want to charge what I target, and a smart player (if you get enough wounds/kills) can remove models to disallow the charge. It makes sense, obviously, but DC will dominate whatever they target on the charge... I normally abstain from shooting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207599-mixed-dc/#findComment-2476969 Share on other sites

For example if you are hiiting high I, fearless and MC it is best to pump out the shots and charge in...other stuff; well it might be better to restrain from shooting and just charge. Point being you can always chose whether to shoot or not and for the purposes of wound allocation it is alwyas nice to have a few different models. As others have pointed out it just makes send to have bolters on PF/TH death company. Pistols, PF/TH and relentless do not make sense. I agree, tho honestly (personally) I normally put my infernus pistols with my TH's/PF's so I have less of a chance to lose it lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207599-mixed-dc/#findComment-2477090 Share on other sites
