Chaplain Darrius
Ok well after having my dad paint BA for a couple years and taking a 4 year break (high school provides no time for anything) I bought my army because I was inspired by dezart fox and his army and also thought this would be a fun army to play. well after a week of aseembling and three weeks of painting I finished my army. the whole army Banner Squad Honor guard with storm shields and lightning claws Librarian Dante Any comments and criticims are welcome. Lemainus
I dig the bronzed look of everyone, but I think the power weapons could go for some tidying up. At the moment they're just kind of white-on-red, and it's too stark for my taste. A technique I learned from several people at my old hobby store: paint the whole blade white apply a heavy layer of watered down red and brown 70/30 wash with watered down orange take the tiniest, most ridiculous detail brush you can find, and stipple a series of dots onto the blade, in a zany little zig-zag. Mix orange and yellow with a little bit of white, water it down, and connect the dots highlight the streaks with white and finally, wash the whole thing again with a watered down red. The whole effect is really crisp and clean but the lightning arcs and currents of energy seem way more organic, and kind of meld in with the weaponry It SOUNDS like a lot of work, but if you bash it out in stages across the entire army, you can do the entire project in like 25 mins Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207602-sanguinary-guard-army/#findComment-2476542 Share on other sites
