How to paint Black Space Marine Armour

hey guys

I'm new to the forums.

I was searching all over the place for highlighting tutorials for black power armour and terminator armour. All the help guides i find have the grays as a highlight but i kinda like the bluish tint ones because it goes niceley with my ultramarines scheme. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

The last question i have, do you think grey or the blueish tint highlight goes better with Legion of the Damned?

The White Dwarf Masterclass on LOTD used a blue tint to the armour...I am currently trying it out and I really like it! It goes something like this:

 

- Black Undercoat

- Basecoat 50/50 Regal Blue & Chaos Black

- Highlight by adding a touch of Fortress grey to the above mix

- Now add more Fortress grey so you have about 50/50

- Extreme Highlight Pure Fortress Grey

i have no tutorial but i would take the blue highlighted black for LOTD because it looks more mystic and fits better to the legion

I'm a little lazy with the highlighting, so I tend to start with a chaos black base coat, then highlight with Necron Abyss, with successive highlights adding a little bit of bleached bone to the mix. The number of highlight levels tend to depend on the importance of the model, but it works quite well.
