Blckbuster Posted July 31, 2010 Share Posted July 31, 2010 I'm looking for opinions on the following subjects: how do you feel about the 13th company wearing the aquila?(nah they predate it's use/the could have looted some/it doesn't matter) other than snow, what basing have you enjoyed seeing them on? Snow does not seem to work for 13th company who are mainly in the eye of terror. Volcanic bases and ruined cities bases work well. (examples would be wonderful) Use whatever base theme you like and just make it consistent throughout your army. With the thousands of planets in the Eye of Terror, I am sure that you'll find a multitude of various climates and terrain to fight on, just like there is in the rest of the galaxy. I find it a little odd that so many Space Wolves players base their armies with a snow theme; it's as if their guys are always back on Asaheim defending Fenris, and never get to leave home to take the fight to the enemy. However along with that I am also very pro "it's your money and your models, do what makes you happy!", I doubt you could ever get me to raise an objection to what anyone did with their army looks wise (and if you want it to fit in the universe then their is very little that imagination can't create to make the fluff fit). Basically If it suites you to have the 13th company to have the aquila (be it for ease of modelling or just liking the look) then with a bit of imagination I'm sure you could create some fluff on how they got them. other than snow, what basing have you enjoyed seeing them on? (examples would be wonderful) I haven't seen them on this basing but I always thought it would be cool to have them on volcanic and skulls theamed bases. Blckbuster Posted August 1, 2010 Author Share Posted August 1, 2010 I have enjoyed this forum for years and I value the opinions of those in it, and I thank you for your input so far I offered what I thought would be the 3 most common responses, I didn't answer my own question, I just wanted to head off any lengthy explanations I think I've decided the wings have to go, which is sad because my old space wolves had loads of them. the basing is a hard one for me, because I would love to do a scenic army base with fitted spots for the figures and a cohesive landscape but basing like they are on a demon world seems so out of place when fighting the happy green based people, maybe flinty is the way to go, I had also considered a pock-marked moon surface for a little lunatic connection please if anyone has any more ideas, I would be grateful for them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207657-13th-comp-questions-of-opinion/#findComment-2477589 Share on other sites More sharing options...
