snorkle
Cool Termie :tu: The only (tiny) problem I see is that the spear is too far stuck in the ground for me (my opinion). I would have the blade sticking out of the ground a little. Can't wait to see more ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2548987 Share on other sites

koran
Cool Termie  The only (tiny) problem I see is that the spear is too far stuck in the ground for me (my opinion). I would have the blade sticking out of the ground a little. Can't wait to see more ^^ You're totally right. I did want to have the blade sticking out of the ground more initially. Unfortunately the blade is too thin to support any pressure on the shaft (hehe.... shaft. Sorry couldnt resist ). If I wasnt planning on using the army (and having to transport it around) then it would be as you suggest but I had to bow to practicability on this one  Thanks for all the comments guys. It really gets the inspiration for me to carry on going. emperorsaxe
Koran, dude your termies are some of the best termies I've seen and believe me I've seen my fair share. Very very nice sir kudos. koran
Yay for time off! Seeing as I should have been working I have managed to distract myself painting... Naughty me :) But it does mean I have got another terminator painted! http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4253.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4250.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4251.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4252.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2550178 Share on other sites
Metal Apostle
Keep up the excellent work! Loving everything that you do :) One suggestion with the combi-plasma terminator, perhaps you could strap the spear to his back or something? I love the model but the spear in the ground seems a bit awkward... it is afterall a precious artifact of the imperium :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2550360 Share on other sites
nurglez
yes but more important then that spear is making sure hated enemies die! love these termies, look so good wish i had the skills to make mine look this good :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2550373 Share on other sites

koran
Its been a while again since I updated (got lots on at the moment). Firstly let me cover the comment to put the spear strapped to the back. I had considered this as an option but found that they were so long it just didnt work very well. Im still considering when I get around to the power armoured marines to have them with spears strapped to their backs but I will have to see what it looks like. Im probably more likely to have the combi weapon on a strap. Anyway, he's the new terminator armed with a power spear and storm shield. I wanted this guy keep pretty simple but Im happy with how he looks. The leather bands between the legs give a good sense of motion and I love the sculpt on this face. With the forward marching pose he really looks like he wants to bash someones face in with the blunt end of his spear just so they can feel the wrath of the Emperor that little bit longer :) As always comments and criticism is welcome. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4256.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4257.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4259.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4260.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4261.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2568312 Share on other sites

Natanael
Why dont you just give my your terminators when you're done? :P They are so full of awesomeness. This last one is great. koran
I wanted to get another of the squad leaders done. I also came to the realisation that I need to do more with helmets on so that made up the choice of what head he was going to have. Also I felt that the squad leaders had enough that would make them individual to make it OK to have them without a bare head. That being said I wanted to have something to make him stand out so I went for a half robe thing. I thought this would make him look quite interesting, while showing enough of the blue armour to leave no doubt about him being a dark angel or something silly like that :) Time for a new weapon type as well. I had the points left over so I wanted to give a terminator a wolf claw (as Im using the space wolf codex so I can have terminators as troops, being a the first company and all). But to fit in with the theme of the army I wanted to make it a pole-arm. I decided that a trident would fit the bill, being recognisable as something that makes sense to be a wolf claw and being obviously different to the spears of the rest of the army. Here he is with and without arms so you can see the half-robe. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/DSCF4264.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/DSCF4266.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/DSCF4267.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/DSCF4268.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/DSCF4269.jpg Comments always welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2582301 Share on other sites

Metal Apostle
Very very cool, Koran. Loving all the poses, you've been a real inspiration to my own terminator army. The degree of modelling that has gone into each one really shows that every individual in the army is a hero of the chapter. Thanks again for sharing, look forward to seeing more :( Especially when paint starts going into these banners! Will you be doing some freehand on the shields too? tiny sam
Very cool one! realy loves the tridents but you might want to put a belt over the Half Robe to prevent the "Half Babydoll" effect Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2582889 Share on other sites
Molloch
This is hugely inspirational! koran
Thanks guys. Of course people using anything they see here is very flattering, so feel free. Im currently working on my first bionic for the next terminator.... I really need to get painting but Im in a very "making" kind of mood. koran
Thanks again for all of the kind comments guys. Ive been working on one of the transports for the power armoured vets that are going to be in the army. I chose a razorback for the extra anti-tank fire power but wanted to add a little more to it. This is what I came up with: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4277.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4276.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4275.jpg Ive also managed to paint up one of the terminators that Ive converted up. Im pretty happy with this guy as holding a gun two handed is a little unusual for a terminator. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4270.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4272.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m16/NeilCollins_/Ultras/DSCF4271.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207704-the-spears-of-ultramar/page/4/#findComment-2587326 Share on other sites
