Looks like he's coming along nicely there. I really like the depth of the blue that you've created and that pristine white is perfect ^_^

thanks very much, i used 4 different shades of blue and it seemed to work well.. heres the finsihed model:

did you buy that model recently? i know its a strange question but most of the models of cassius at my local games workshop still have him decked out only with his old bolt pistol. I want to get him with this combi-flamer just wondered if that is it?

Good work. The right shoulder pad is especially nice. The laurels look great. I've had trouble painting them recently. What colors did you use? It looks like the final highlight/brightest color is goblin green, but I'm not sure. Any washes in there? I tried washing mine with thraka green and with devlan mud, and I wasn't really satisfied with either of them. Any tips?

Also, I realize you're finished, but what do you think about making the skulls a different color? There are several on the model, and I think it might help to break up the white if they were either bone-colored, or metallic (gold or silver would both work, in my opinion.) Bone colored would be quite easy - you could just wash what you've got already with devlan mud and then highlight with bleached bone. You might even add a second wash of sepia or flesh. The detail you've managed to paint on the skulls is quite impressive, but I think it might look even better if the bone was a different color.

Regardless, keep up the good work.

Black undercoat first, then paint dark angels green.

drybrush goblin green and highlight scorpion green on the uppermost edges

I had considered that, the white does look a little blocky.. but i have a army wide theme that i like to stick to, every skull in my army is panted white so i stuck with it
