TrueScale BA Librarian

This is pretty much the final version of the librarian I showed in this thread. I want to add a couple of small details here and there, but this is the final product. After putting so much time into it, I really want to build something else, thinking a chaplain this time. During the course of this project, it went from "I want to try and do this" to "what can I actually get away with". For the next one, I'll probably expand upon some of the themes on this model, since I need the practice.

And no, I don't think the tubes are too much.

A true showing of what you can do with green stuff, some bits and a vision. I think it looks great. The cabling is amazing, how did you do that?

Can't wait to see what you do for a Chaplain...

Looking forward to seeing some paint on him

I think he said it was a wire or a guitar string in his WIP thread.

but....but....but....its green!

(please excuse my musical instrument ignorance :to: )

Actually, he said it's:

...some cheap-o metal spring bracelet my girlfriend found at the dollar store or something...

Still great work. Love the detailing you've put on the armor - it's got an intricate feel without overwhelming the piece as a whole.

Need to find me some of those bracelets!

@Hubernator: I think it's because it's a recessed detailing instead of raised like so much of the rest of it. It may come out fine in paint, or I may redo it slightly.

@Terminatorinhell: I have the GF9 sculpting tool set (here), a couple of Color Shapers (here and here), and some clay sculpting tools (here and here). I mostly use only one or two of the metal tools, in addition to one of the clay tools (the spade tipped one). The rest are circumstantial.

@everyone else: I don't know if I will ever get to painting it. I haven't painted anything in almost 3 years. I stopped when my Warmachine army got stolen (over a thousand dollars in minis, all painted to competition level or damn close; there's an article in an old NQ about GenCon with my picture in it.) Since then I haven't really wanted to paint, just build.

That librarian is simply, well, badarse. My only gripe is that he needs a tome of some sort hanging off him by some chain. That'd put the ceramite icing on the plasma core cake.

I'm going to be making the same librarian from the BA codex for my terminator command squad- but as one can imagine, he'll be considerably bulkier and a little more adorned..... and less blood angel-ey, since he'll be a Praetor of Orpheus.

But yeah- fantastic work, kudos.

Love the cabling. Ask your girlfriend to buy me some. haha.
