Skirax
Hey guys, I was just wondering how to paint the Word Bearer's Burning Book flame part, does anyone have a tutorial they could direct me too? Montuhotep
Burning Book? On the shoulder pad, you mean? I thought that was a skull. In any case, fire is fire. You can either go the cinematic route or the realistic. The realistic has the light colours at the base (where the flame is hotter) and the darker nearer the top to represent the flame cooling somewhat. The cinematic simply reverses this. Cool at bottom, hot on top. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207797-word-bearer-burning-book/#findComment-2479115 Share on other sites
Solid Zaku
I think he's talking Pre-Heresy. You can look up two things. One, the pre-heresy picture on Lexicanum. Two, pinstriping. That's right, pinstriping. Most of it is used to create flame effects on cars, and it goes just as well with minis.
