Tsavong Lah
Codex, p.86: "For every five models in the squad, one Wolf Guard model in Terminator armour may choose one of the following: [...]" So let's say I have a squad of ten Wolf Guard, five in TDA and five in Power Armour. I get two heavy weapons upgrades since I have ten models in the squad, and then once the game starts the five PA Wolf Guard get portioned off to go lead other units. So now I have a five-man Terminator squad with two Cyclones (or whatever). Am I missing something, or is this totally legal? Demonslayer
I'm sure it's legal just as long as you have the 10 Wolf Guard and of course 2 must be in TDA for the heavy weapons Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207834-five-tda-wolf-guard-two-heavy-weapons/#findComment-2479292 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yep. The squad was purchased with 10 models, and thus you get 2 heavy weapons. That 5 of them are now in other squads makes no difference, as they were part of the squad when you bought the wargear. Same thing with Grey Hunters- a WGPL doesnt count towards getting the second special weapon, because hes not a part of the squad during list building- even if youve already decided where your assigning him. LoneSniperSG
That's exactly how I interpret it. If you have 10 PA Wolf Guard and two are in TDA, they can pick one of the available heavy weapons. It just says "For every five models..." it doesn't say "For every five Wolf Guard in Terminator armor..." LoneSniperSG
Of course. let the Blood Angels have their Blood Talons and general insanity. I'll stick with cheaper Terminators, cheaper Tactical squads, bigger assault squads, and Split-Fire lascannons. Not to mention all the CC buffs we get. .. And they say BA are the kings at the moment. LOL. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207834-five-tda-wolf-guard-two-heavy-weapons/#findComment-2479381 Share on other sites

Schertenleib
Just so I understand correctly... At 10 models you can have two heavy weapons. Can they both be the same ie two Assault Cannons or two Cyclones? Lord Ragnarok
Yes, they can be any combination of weapon type as long as you have 10 wolf guard. You can also split them off as pack leaders with the Heavy weapon. Good option for GH packs lead by a WG in drop pod. Or add a CML WG to Long Fang pack! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207834-five-tda-wolf-guard-two-heavy-weapons/#findComment-2479589 Share on other sites
Timberhawk
That's what I want to roll...long fangs backed up with a cyclone....*sigh* I was telling one of my buddies about running five missile launchers with that combo and he wasn't happy. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207834-five-tda-wolf-guard-two-heavy-weapons/#findComment-2479860 Share on other sites
Guganation
That's become a standard use for the TDA heavy weapon options. 7 crack missiles, split fire or not, is an awesome heavy support option. The powerweapon and 2 attacks makes them think twice about charging you too.
