Death Company Charging

Fellow brothers and sons of Sanguinius,

It says that the Death Company have bolters and bolt pistols/close combat weapons. If you shoot with bolters the first turn, could you opt to use bolt pistols the following turn so you could charge and get the benefits of Furious Charge? It may be in the rulebook but I'm not sure where to look.

Thanks alot,

Since DC have then Relentless USR you are able to Rapidfure with the Boltgun and still assault. The main difference is that the Boltpistol will get you the extra close-combat weapon attack.

This is why you will see people saying that a DC with a Powerfist should always get the Boltgun since you will need two Powerfists to get an extra attack. Where in my opinion if they have a Powerweapon they should have a pistol.

So DC will always get to charge if within 6" no matter what guns they fire, the choice is between the extra shot before a charge or an extra attack in the assault phase. A mix of Boltguns and Pistols is probably your best option

He's right on the money. Just be careful with how much you want your DC to shoot. If your opponent removes all his casualties from his front lines, you may be out of charge range. Very bad.
