Max_Dammit
Most SW use the left shoulder for company and right for rank, but what would a Wolflord have on his right shoulder guard? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/ Share on other sites
Requiem of the Wolf
Remarkably similar to the seating arrangement of a 4 ton Thunderwolf.....Whatever he damn well wants lol. Bloodmange
I would assume you could do something meaningful to that given Lord. Ragnar has the first Fenrisian wolf he slew during his trial. Grey Mage
Most SW use the left shoulder for company and right for rank, but what would a Wolflord have on his right shoulder guard? Mine? The SW version of the Crux Terminatus. Other things I could see: Runes The Great Wolfs Symbol Deathwatch If his pack died, their old symbol Wolf Pelt His own GCs symbol again. Sharpsilver
I assume it's probably free-for-all in terms of what a Wolf Lord has on it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481099 Share on other sites
Captain Trivia
I would second the 4 ton thunderwolf comment. I would also say that as the master of his company, he'd more than likely take that opportunity to display his own heraldry. Thunderhawk3015
Remarkably similar to the seating arrangement of a 4 ton Thunderwolf.....Whatever he damn well wants lol. I'm gonna have to fourth this one. Throw whatever you want on there, just don't do like I did and paint one when I had too much ale and used Tentacle Pink as the base color Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481155 Share on other sites

Bulweih
I would vote for the GC Symbol along with his own heraldry or the symbol as the middle part of a wolfy crux version. CainTheHunter
For the beginning, he could have a different colour shoulderpads :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481280 Share on other sites
Max_Dammit
Not both a different color, the company badge needs to be on the same color for lord as for troops. but the other side, I'm making a wolfmount lord and he has the shoulderpads with the high rise rim with the little wolfhead on the end, and have NO idea what to put on it http://members.home.nl/maxdammit/40k/TWM/Thunderlord1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481292 Share on other sites

You can also paint the rim in gold or bronze. May I also suggest some wolf skull bits from SW, WG sprues? Max_Dammit
thought about that skull, but have to see if it fits in with that shield. The upper rim will be gold, as will the wolfheads on his pack (i normally never do that, but hey he is the lord) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481312 Share on other sites

The upper rim will be gold, as will the wolfheads on his pack (i normally never do that, but hey he is the lord) You can file it down from inside, to make it thinner. I originally wanted to suggest one of the goblin wolf rider wolf heads, but then looked that the shield and understood and there is no place for that. As for his backpack - have You though about bone? I've done several bronze/gold wolfheads on these backpacks, but found out recently that bone-ish looks much better. Max_Dammit
its painted so it stays gold :) Its coming to completion and run in to the shoulder marking as a problem :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481343 Share on other sites
Bulweih
Well, in that case....I've done the small triangles in the rim in the GC colours with blacklining the spaces between. As for the SP itself, what I said above...., can't think of sth. else right now, sorry. Or maybe paint it like a runestone.... Tsuro
Since banners have fallen out of favour, I think putting the wolf lord's personal heraldy on it would be the best option. Of course that might require a mountain of free-hand and/or greenstuffing skills depending on desired complexity. Otherwise, I'd just go with something suitably ornate and wolfy looking. If theres no suitable existing bit, it's not that difficult to make a simple green stuff mold of relief you llike (e.g the double wolf headed belt, thunderwolf chest piece) and then stick it on a shoulder pad; if the green stuff relief is thin enough it should conform fairly well to the curvature of the pad. One can even get adventurous and combine different pieces (seperate the double wolf heads with a rune/wolf tail marking/skull/whatever - they do things like this all the time in the codex) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481368 Share on other sites
Max_Dammit
had a little look trough the bits on a bits site (not at home) and the crux on chain or the crux back banner of the wolfguard look like a option, soe does the wing of the longfang banner with a bit of work but would turn in a BA if i dont watch it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481369 Share on other sites
Serunox
In the Space Wolve pack you get a shoulder pad thats got some fur on it.Ive place that on my WL with the metal piece gold, shoulder pad rims gold and inside where u put the symbol red.i figured it shows of the number of wolves my WL slayed.Must say it looks cool. One question, bit of topic but i jsut want one answer ,could a WL's armour be painted like a wolf priest's?Black wiht gold trimmings? Captain Trivia
I would say the wolf lord armor would be colored like the rest of his company, but like we have all mentioned earlier, he is the wolf lord and can have his armor however the hell he wants it ("hey it's not pink, just a really really light shade of red") Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/207957-so-what-would-a-wolflord-have/#findComment-2481438 Share on other sites
