Wolf Guard in Jump Packs

I currently run one with dual wolf claws with my skyclaws, little expensive tho, basically a skyclaw is a blood claw who got a jump pack for 3 points, my guards pack cost him 25, not to mention his claws, tho of course that part is optional

Expensive and bloody illegal as well, have to say. Skyclaws have no option for Wolf Guard pack leader, if You look at the respective option in the Codex. Unless You were meaning WG Battle leader (HQ).

Of course, im sorry, as im rollin thru the site, im working on my skyclaws so they are fresh on my mind. My apology and thanks for catchin that. I have all my wolf guard with the actual wolf head as well as the battle leader so they basically look the same

But WGBL is not the best option for Skyclaws - points-wise and special rules-wise. Wolf Priest with JP is considered a much more better option, since he grants a rerolls to hit, thus remedying the poor WS 3 of Skyclaws.

Back to the original topic - essentially we can model both Vanguards and Sternguards, but they are more expensive and lack several special rules. Wolf Guards in all their versions tend to become bloody expensive quite soon, therefore the option of rollin' in LRC or leading packs is usually the most popular one.

3 man Wolf Guard unit with Melta-bombs.

144 points, fast, effective, deadly. Drop em in and send em tank hunting.

Not as feasible as other options but if I am not in the mood for my Lone Wolves, or just feel like being a little crazy I use them to great effect.

Considering a jetpack costs a full wolf guard then some, I'm not inclined to take it. It the roughly as 2 grey hunters, one carrying a melta gun. Not ideal considering these guys can't use the ability unless all are using Jetpacks (a entire squad gone just to get 5 wolf guard to fly even before the killy stuff? Not even worth trying.)

May as well use Skyclaws, slightly less skill, but at least they only cost the same as a wolf guard each and would undoubtably do more damage for points, and could prove quite deadly with a Wolf Priest. Wolf Guard with Jetpack could simply never make the points back. No matter what killy stuff one attaches to it.

Best to avoid unless your feeling really plucky, or simply want to suprise someone into attacking the saposed death star. XD

You could always take some pack leaders, then take an extra Wolf Guard with a jump pack, storm shield, meltabombs and mark of the wulfen.

He could wander around by himself being a thorn in the enemy side (at least until they kill him).

Pretty good idea, but I'd rather put him on a bike so he can have T5 in case he gets shot at.

But yeah, WGs with JPs are a wee bit too pricey for my tastes as well...
