Steamwolf
This is the first time I have ever posted on this site, but here is a Steampunk Army I've been working on that is of course still a work in progress. First we have a Dreadnought, Aptly named...Steamy McSteamerson. I've been using a sort of dirty brown with an aging wash to give it sort of an ancient bronze look. Along with the wooden armor plating and the pipes. I also made him a boiler that I attached to the back. http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0289.jpg http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0290.jpg http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0291.jpg Also he is powered by Scotch... Next is one of my skyclaws. I got the wings from Micro Art Studio and I did the same thing with the bronze wash. http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0292.jpg http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0293.jpg Next are my Grey Hunters, The picture is a bit out of focus, but you get the idea. I'm experimenting with the basing right now and these are the two options I decided on. http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0294.jpg Then last but not least, we have a Wolf Guard Terminator equipped with a Heavy Flamer. This right now is by far one of favorite painted models. http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0296.jpg width=593 height=480http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/ac221/dallas131/IMGP0295.jpg[/img] I also apologize for the somewhat wacky colors in the photos. I was using my family's DSLR with a makeshift light box and not very good lights so the color is a bit funky, but you get the idea. I'm also working on a lot more conversion work for a lot of my units as I get more comfortable with cutting up some pretty expensive pieces of plastic(Thanks for the price raise GW). So hopefully more pics soon. Comments or suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks. Maltesefalcon609
Ahahaha it happens mate so dw. Your models look weird I will give you that, but your painting style is awesome. Personal opinion the style of your painting would so suit a Salamanders army with the scaly/carapace armour look as Space Wolfs seem to love fur and belts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208053-steampunk-space-wolves/#findComment-2482178 Share on other sites
Steamwolf
I admit it looks a little funky for wolves. Whenever I go to play games people either mistake me for Chaos or Blood Angels. I figured steampunking wolves would be a challenge. Maltesefalcon609
You could always be smart about it and just have there bases look like they are fighting on an volcanic planet hence the ultra red glow on their armour lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208053-steampunk-space-wolves/#findComment-2482195 Share on other sites
Steamwolf
What I was kind of going for on the brown bases was more of like their specific chapter was stationed on a planet that is primarily mined for coal and iron resources which is what some of the bases are. And the whole volcanic thing did cross my mind at one point. tiny sam
I realy like the amiotic fluid storage tank and the external tub. you should paint them like they were transparent with a glossy finish! also why is your sky claw's face painted copper? Steamwolf
Thanks man. His face is painted copper because I haven't gotten around to painting the faces on my guys yet. He still has some more work that needs to be done.
