Xeenos
I hate plasma.. do you really want to risk putting a wound on your char when it over heats? for me it ALWAYS over heats.. As for I5.. id say if ur on the Thunder Wolf, going with the hammer for the str 10 is worth while. Really it comes down to what your doing. If you need to smash bosses and big bugs and stuff, then hammer is the sure fire kill butten. If you want to kill troops mostly, then the I5 is the way to go. I think. Best anti monster/IC thing we got is Arjac anyway! Woot woot! Beef
my lord would be on a TW, with a TH and FB with Runic armour and belt of Russ, Pluss wolf tooth necklace and runic charm. Ullr Direfang
Wolf Lord with Frost Blade, Runic Armour, Wolftooth Necklace, Melta-bombs, Belt of Russ and Saga of the Bear.Comes in at 220 Points for 6 S5 I5 PW attacks on the charge along with melta-bombs for when he needs them. I am a fan of a build similar to this. I tend to use Warriorborn over Bear though. Vassakov
I run Morkai, my Wolf Lord in TDA with Twin Claws, Warrior Born and a WTN and usually a Belt of Russ. Great fun to dump him into a squad of Boyz or Gaunts (or even a Guard "Blob" and watch the havoc. :( ) Of course, ThunderLord is the best... but I just loathe the concept. Oh, and if you want a Lord of Thunder Hammer Awesome... Arjac Rockfist. Sure, he has 1 less wound. But he can throw his Thunder Hammer. Kenmichi
I like to do things differently. I thought to myself, "Now how do I make my Wolf Lord look and play like a monster?" Frost Axe and Power Fist. Yes I know I don't get a str. bonus for either weapon, I just wanted him to look like a mean and scary dude. Karack Blackstone
Save the Plasma for a GH/BC/WG/Scout. They are good, but overheats reduce the chance your Lord will make it into combat by enough to be worrisome. I plan on using either Logan or a TWLord for my Lord HQ. If I use the Lord, he'd have: WTN, RA, FB/WC (can't decide), SS, Bear Saga, maybe MB's. Other than that, it's really a tossup. If a FB hits on 3+, and wounds on 2+ versus most anything on the table (Save MC's) then is it worth more than a WC? A question I can wait for an answer on, but it would be fun to see the look on the face of my opponent when using 5 TWC with TH and 5 SS's led by this Lord charging in... Freman Bloodglaive
The only Wolf Lord I've fielded so far has two power fists, jump pack, runic armour, belt of Russ, wolf tooth necklace, saga of the bear. It's 265 points, but with the help of a Wolf Priest and 7 Skyclaws he was able to destroy a ten man tactical terminator squad, and run the attached Librarian off the table, making it to the end of the game with one wound left. I'm sure a thunder hammer and storm shield would be a more sensible armament, as well as being 15 points cheaper than the two power fist+belt of Russ combination, but it's cool right? The rest of my Wolf Lord models have frost axes or wolf claws except for my second edition Wolf Lord with terminator armour, thunder hammer, and storm shield. That was a great combination back then. What's his story specifically, MC hunter? Sounds like a nasty Lord with a pair of Fists... Plus it saves you eating the points for a Fist for the Skyclaws...
