More Quickshaded Marines + Necron[pic hvy]

Hey,

 

just finished these:

 

 

Though i gotta admit.. they are still abit too shiny i dont know why they arent getting matte finish by now O_o i sprayed them alot with armypainter antishine varnish. Also i gotta admit that im not

happy with the necron base at all :)

 

 

The terminator was actually highlighted before using quickshade by brush-on. Quickshade was added to give them a nice shade, which it did imo :)

I like the terminator. What colours did you use?

These all look great, I think you need to watch out more with the quickshade as its pooled and formed large black areas which kind of give it away. In regards to the varnish I do believe the more you use the more it'll look glossy as its forming a shell around the model so the thicker it is, the more it reflects light. To summarise, use less. :)

While your miniatures look good and are more than acceptable for the tabletop, I can´t say that I like Quickshade. Sure, it is very easy to get a whole army done fairly quick, but I can´t see where applying this stuff on a miniature is painting. Same goes for "wash ´til death", basicly it´s having a basecoat and dipping, nothing more.

 

Still, some nice minis. I think that the two you quickshaded looked better if you painted them like your Templar-Dread, which is also well done. :)
