Morollan
I'm making a squad of Honour Guard using the robed Dark Angel Veteran bodies and can't make my mind up what colour to paint the robes. Anyone done anything similar and able to offer any advice, preferably with some pictures? Forgefather Vulkan
I hve done a similar thing with my 4th company but throughout squads, this will sound boring but I just painted the robes black to break up the red, highlighting them a mix of chaos black and shadow grey - 1:1 then 2:1 or shadow grey and chaos black... For pics I have a topic called my blood angels with a guy with a robe, it will be updated soo! Hope this helps Forgefather Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2486259 Share on other sites
Reyner
What are colour are you planning to use for the Honour Guards' armour? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2486295 Share on other sites
Morollan
I'm just doing the armour red as I don't like gold honour guard. I was thinking either black or white for the robes. Black might look too dark or too much like the death company. Might try one of each and see how it looks. TheHarrower
Personally, I would go with white. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2486457 Share on other sites
Aramis_the_Red
I'm doing something similar to this with my SG, using DA vets in robes and hoods w/ paulsongames resin SG jump packs and power scythes. I'm torn between black, white, bleached bone, or red. (my successor chapter's main colors are codex grey and chaos black shoulders and the chapter badge being the only red on the model, so in my case the red would make them stand out) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2486475 Share on other sites
jeremy1391
i would run with black robes personally ..... unless you went with gold armor honor guard then red robes would be awesome!!!! Nomus Sardauk
I agree with TheHarrower, white probably goues best with the gold armor plus I remember reading somewhere that Sanguinius used to wear white robes like those of Sanguinary Priests so if it's good enough for the big man... Brother-Captain Devlonir
If I'd go for robed Honour Guard, I'd either make them gold armor with red robes, or give them red armor with white robes and golden highlighting (a bit like a golden shimmer in the white fabric) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2486945 Share on other sites
Morollan
Using a sister of battle (closest I can get to robes) in the SM painter, here's a mock-up of red armour and white robes: And here's red/black: Personally, I think the white looks better so I'll probably go with that. dadieau
All of my Blood Bearers have red armor and the robe color denotes their position in the chapter; troops are brown, veterans are red, honor guard is white, death company black. Whitefireinferno
I say White with Blood splatter on it for brutalness But this too comes from a Flesh Tearer so yeah blood should be everywhere. BrotherMoses
Well what company are you doing? Every company has its own color so maybe you could do it in that company's color. I believe they are: 2nd: yellow 3rd: white 4th: green Thats all I can remember and its late, but its in the codex somewhere I'm sure. I'm more interested in robed scouts. No idea how to start that one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208348-robed-honour-guard/#findComment-2487613 Share on other sites
Brother_Sigurd
Perhaps an off-white robe with some golden lining looking like it is sewn into the fabric? That is what I personally would do.
