Redfinger
I am not sure if this is where this questions goes, mods feel free to move it. So here is the situation currently I play Black Templar's and I really love the look and fluff of the chapter. What I am finding though is that when it comes to tournaments BT's aren't the most competitive. So I have been toying of the idea of making a second army for tournaments. I looked at the other races and still keep coming back to space marines. So what are my options with marines; Blood Angles- that is what everyone else in my area plays Space Wolves-if they arent playing BA, this is what they play. Ultramarines-Like 'em, just not the color. So I have read through the DIY thread and I have a few questions.... 1. I could create a new Space Marine Chapter, new color scheme, ect...and have them play under the codex "Ultramarines", i.e playing by those rules and call them something else? I know this is pretty much copying what already exsists, but the simplicity of it is attractive. 2. Can you take "rules" from another codex? For example, I really like the assault troops, I wish they were more useful to BT's, anyway, Blood Angles can take them as a troop choice. Would I be able to legally field a DIY chapter that has assault troops as a troop choice? What are the limitations in giving your chapter "special rules" I have not been able to find anything in the rule book or in a forum that talks about that. Thanks for any help guys, Ashton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208372-diy-chapter-questions/ Share on other sites
Captain Lucas Raziel
No, sadly you can't pick and mix with the rules. if so, my Astral Dragons would be scary. 1. Espada Azul
1. Yes. 2. No. Also, Liber is more focused on background than gameplay (rules are not a priority). This should have been posted over at Amicus. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208372-diy-chapter-questions/#findComment-2486395 Share on other sites
