Glimpse the Void
I started drawing this Grey Hunter and thought I'd let the fang take a look before i got much further. I'm interested in any constructive criticism, especially as far as proportions and perspective. Additionally, if you guys have any cool ideas to add as far as detail or background, I am all ears. He's got a pistol and a powerfist. The rest of the details are up in the air. I like scratches on his helmet, and am going to add more runes, totems, and fetishes. I'm pretty open minded to any ideas you guys may have. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/8/11/128342_sm-Bolt%20Pistol.,%20Drawing,%20Grey%20Hunter,%20Sketch,%20Space%20Wolves.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208375-help-me-draw-a-grey-hunter/ Share on other sites
hendrik
armourwise his left(on the right in the drawing) pauuldron stands a little odd, normally it would still need to protect the armpit a bit you could offcourse redraw the entire chest to make the stance look different, make the chestpiece a bit bigger and broader towards the right, it makes him look more impostant too this way. this would also require to bulk the pauldrons a bit. as for details, there's a roster like thing in the helmet's mouth, take a model to see what i mean and you'll under stand it. good job pup! have an ale on me! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208375-help-me-draw-a-grey-hunter/#findComment-2486433 Share on other sites
Dyre
You've got some skill! I would make a couple changes in reguard to scale though, I would enlarge the head, and maybe move it a little more to the left. To get the proper scale use some of your sprue pieces to comare the head to shoulder pad size. I would also try to enlarge the lower torso a little bit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208375-help-me-draw-a-grey-hunter/#findComment-2486545 Share on other sites
Vlk
I'm afraid my advice won't be very precise but... let's make him look a little less "sexy". I mean - the pose reminds me of cosplay bolter babes posing for photographers. Make him look more menacing and perhaps add some bulk to his body... now he seems a little too "sleek" to me. jmurph
Thicken the torso and abdomen- Sm's are 300 lb supermen clad in ceramite plate armor. Same for the thighs. Right now, it looks very slender. The neck looks a little long which makes the smaller head look somewhat feminized. I would add a bar piece along the bottom of the helmet running from the ear piece tot the frontal grill section. Edit: Here is a quick pen sketch I did to show you what I had in mind: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/8/12/128577_md-Space%20Wolf%20Quick%20Sketch.PNG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208375-help-me-draw-a-grey-hunter/#findComment-2487077 Share on other sites
S. Bloodhowl
The armour is too slim and a bit misshaped, but then Power Armour is quite hard to draw (for me anyway :P ) Also, the Boltgun/pistol looks more like a lasgun sawn in half with a bolter ammo clip in it. Like the others have said you should get a model or lots in various poses in front of you to look at whilst you draw, it helps me!
