My growing Aurora Chapter Updated August 2013

Hi,

I am Marlon, 30 years, from Germany, and a WH40K fanatic since 2001. I always was a fan of the Aurora Chapter, but my evergrowing beloved Imperial Guard kept me busy. Now after a long time I am really getting into profound work concerning this great chapter, which I admire most is the colour scheme and the insignia.

I would inivite you to commnt on my first pictures. I am very interested in your posts. My devotion also is to shoot pictures "as-realistic-as-possible" currently without using photo-shop but only b finding interesting dioramas in nature. So I made my first pictures of my marines of AURORA-Chapter

the "jungle" area is a simple small brick but the size of the GW-miniatures it gets a big river:-). Yes I love this "as-realistic-as-possible" places and they are not so rare at all;-) Try it yourselve as recommendation

I love the way you've managed to place your miniatures in natural habitats without giving the feeling that they're, well, mini. It's very evocative. Good job, man!

nice models..how did you paint them? i actually know very little about the aurora chapter (apart from the fact that they have lots of land raiders and predators...)

about painting: I was taught by the stuff of Games Workshop Karlsruhe/Germany how to achieve the colour scheme correctly. Although the 1999 Codex Ultarmarines presents the Aurora Chapter in a more "light-green" the new 2010 Space Marine Book presents the Auroras more Salamander-Green, I chose to chose a way in between the two solutions/schemes.

1.)spray Skull White 2.) Paint Snot Green 3.) Ink Thrakka Green 4.) Highlight with Goblin Green 5.) Highlight with Gamo Green

 

Background:

Still you only find little information concerning the Aurora Chapter but for one reason was important that I love them: They are successors of the Ultramarines sharing not only their tactics but also their ethos! I am Christian and I believe in good and reason of mankind-->I find this seldom in WH40K but when I find it I find it near the Ultramarines and the Imeprial Fists-->I chose to choose Aurora 9 years ago and now started to built up an army of them after 9 years of committed Imperial Guard work:-)

maybe if you allow your squads to take land raiders as dedicated transports? an idea ive had..
