What to do?

I guess it's impossible to come up with an original paint scheme withthe hobby being so old. I thought I would try the paint them green and black aproach. Far away they look black, up close you can see Dark Angels Green in them. What I loved at the time was to use gold for the outline on shoulder pads and what not. Now I read that it is a scheme of another SM or CSM chapter. Black and gold trim.

So now I am wundering if I should use Silver or bolt gun metal or Mithril instead. Is there another SM or CSM that is Black or dark dark Green with Silver trim? I don't want to use red trim, since I herd that is what the DA were originally. I want to use something different.

So is Black and silver used by another chapter? If so, who?

Well the Ravenwing are one that use black and silver still actually.

Oh, I thought it was Black and white. Thanks, I might leave what I have Black/DA Green and gold and the new ones I make I might do Black/DA green Mithril.

Any other idea to use?

White and Silver are heraldricly the same, as are Yellow and Gold.

Frankly, I saw screw it- use the gold, its what you liked and the dark angels green tint should be enough to show it.

If not, the sound of your voice saying "arent these some well painted dark angels" should finish the job.

Thanks Grey Mage for the encouragement. I really do like the gold on them. I just wish I could paint it better. I think I will keep up with that. What I might do is stick with Mithril for RW to have a bit of a difference to them since I want to keep them all black/DA Green.

I agree with Grey Mage.

It's not as if you're forced to adhere to a certain paint scheme. I also use slight deviations, because I like the look better (e.g. DA green shoulderpads on DW terminators).

The most important thing is, that you like the paint scheme. And should you someday decide that you don't like it anymore, you can always strip the minis and paint them again :)
