WarpWalker
Hello everyone, The sanguinary guard and death company of the Angels Encarmine are white, correct? But if I want to include a "Lemartes" character into may Encarmine's death company. Would he still have black armor? Lemartes(by another name) is still in control of his mind and functions as a chaplain but is also in the grips of the black rage. Any ideas or help would be great. Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208464-help-determining-color-of-model/ Share on other sites
small_dog
Personally I think he would probably still have black armour, but an alabaster Lemartes would look awesome. But for the colors look at Librarians... regardless of chapter, they are usually still ultramarine blue. Leonaides
I'd say white. Chaplain or not he's still fallen to the rage and is a member of the dc. I doubt meph kept his blue armour when he fell... Or maybe you could do a split scheme- one side white and one side black? Hmmm, that reminds me of a joke about a black and white space marine... JeffJedi
Since he is permanently assigned to the Death Company, I'd say he would wear the same colors. NExOBLIVISCARIS
he would have white armor because im pretty sure he belongs to the blood angels and if you put him in the angels encarmine he would be a "count as" model. so he would be a chaplain in the angels encarmine that is like lemartes. but thats just what i think Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208464-help-determining-color-of-model/#findComment-2487672 Share on other sites
JamesI
I'd say black as he's still a chaplain. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208464-help-determining-color-of-model/#findComment-2487785 Share on other sites
Morollan
It's hard to tell whether Lemartes is painted primarily as a Chaplain or as Death Company. Let's face it, the main features of both are that they are black/red with lots of skulls. I cannot however, see any red crosses on Lemartes (although I'm relying on pictures as I don't own the model) and that might be a deciding factor. At the end of the day though, it's down to you. Paint him as a chaplain or paint him as DC. Whatever you think looks best! TrentL
Honestly I think that an army with Alabaster Chaplains would look pretty cool or at least something that breaks from the "norm" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/208464-help-determining-color-of-model/#findComment-2487814 Share on other sites
Brother_Sigurd
In my personal opinion I believe maybe some black and alabastor. Obviously with the red "X's" on him or certain red parts. Maybe like a half and half down the middle white and black with red to designate what he is. Just throwing some ideas out there. Rybnick
Personally on my Angels Encarmine all my Death Company/Sanguinary Guard are white but I retained the original colors of special characters (i.e. Dante is still gold, Lemartes still black). I look at it like they are assisting the Angels Encarmine in whatever encounter they are involved in and not a full-time part of the chapter. Basically for Lemartes it's like this, they shipped his cooler over before the big battle. The Angels Encarmine thawed him out and hit the battle field, then once they are done it's back to the fridge with him. No time for changing armor or making him look more in line with the chapters other DC, their are Xeno's to kill in Sanguinius' name. Also as a side note Lemartes' fluff is some of my favorite in the entire codex, it's just a shame you can't take the JP off him. WarpWalker
Thank you all for your time and insight. As you can see there are mixed feelings as to what color his armor should be. But I feel the majority may have this one. Also something Morollan pointed out. His armor doesn't have all the red crosses on it. I'm going to keep his armor black. Thanks again for replying so fast.
